Хіба ж о́чі Твої не для правди, о Господи? Ура́зив Ти їх, але їм не боли́ть, понищив Ти їх, та відмовились узяти поу́ку вони, обличчя свої поробили від скелі тверді́шими, відмо́вилися наверну́тись!

Піду́ но собі до вельмо́жних і з ними помо́влю, — бо знають доро́гу Господню вони, право Бога свого, — та й вони усі ра́зом зламали ярмо́, а шле́ї пірва́ли!

Хіба через це Я проба́чу тобі: твої діти Мене полишили, і присяга́ються тим, хто не Бог. Я їх нагодува́в, а вони чужоло́жать і на́товпом ходять до дому блудниці,

Зберіться на мури його та й пони́щте, але́ не вчиня́йте кінця́ їм! Усуньте підпо́ри його, бо вони не для Господа,

Judgment Proclaimed
Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of hosts,
“Because you have spoken this word,

Тому́ вирікає отак Господь Бог Савао́т: За те, що гово́рите слово таке́, ось Я в у́ста твої вкладу слово Своє за огонь, а наро́д цей — то дро́ва, — і він пожере́ їх!
“Behold, I am bringing a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD.

І буде, як скажуть: За́ що Господь, Бог наш зробив нам усе це? то ти скажеш до них: Як Мене ви покинули, і служите в вашому кра́ї бога́м чужозе́мним, так чужи́нцям служити ви будете в кра́ї не вашому!
“Declare this in the house of Jacob

Почуй же оце, ти наро́де безумний й безсердий, який має очі — й не бачить, має вуха — й не чує!
‘Do you not fear Me?’ declares the LORD.

An eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it.
Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail;

Чи Мене ви боятись не бу́дете, — каже Господь, чи тремтіти не будете перед лицем Моїм? Мене, що пісок покла́в за границю для моря, за вічну межу́, якої воно не пере́йде: хоч повста́нуть, та не перемо́жуть, і шумі́тимуть хвилі його, але не пересту́плять її!
‘But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart;

А серце в наро́да цього неслухня́не та непокі́рне, відпа́ли вони та й пішли.

І не сказали вони в своїм серці: Біймося ж Господа, нашого Бога, який дає дощ, дощ ранній та пізній ча́су його, стереже́ нам уста́влені тижні для жнив.

Як клі́тка, напо́внена пта́хами, так доми́ їхні повні ома́ни, — тому́ повиро́стали та збагати́лись вони!

Потовсті́ли вони та погла́дшали, переступа́ють також міру злого, справедливо вони не судили сирі́тського су́ду, — і мають пово́дження! — і не помагають убогим у їхній справі.
