How the Lord has covered the daughter of Zion
With a cloud in His anger!
He has cast from heaven to earth
The glory of Israel,
And has not remembered His footstool
In the day of His anger.
О, как навис гнев Владыки над дочерью Сиона,
словно грозовые тучи!
С небес сбросил на землю
красу Израиля
и не вспомнил о подножии ног Своих
в день гнева Своего.
All the habitations of Jacob.
In His wrath He has thrown down
The strongholds of the daughter of Judah;
He has brought them down to the ground;
He has profaned the kingdom and its princes.
Без пощады поглотил Владыка
все жилища Иакова,
в гневе Своем Он разрушил
твердыни дочери Иуды.
Он отверг царство
и в нечестии поверг вождей его на землю.
All the strength of Israel;
He has drawn back His right hand
From before the enemy.
And He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire
Consuming round about.
В свирепом гневе Он сокрушил
все силы3 Израиля.
Он отвел Свою правую руку,
не защитил от наступающего врага.
Он воспылал в Иакове, как пламя,
что пожирает все вокруг.
He has set His right hand like an adversary
And slain all that were pleasant to the eye;
In the tent of the daughter of Zion
He has poured out His wrath like fire.

He has swallowed up Israel;
He has swallowed up all its palaces,
He has destroyed its strongholds
And multiplied in the daughter of Judah
Mourning and moaning.
Владыка стал подобен врагу,
поглотил Он Израиль;
уничтожил все дворцы его
и разрушил твердыни его.
Он умножил плач и причитание
дочери Иуды.
He has destroyed His appointed meeting place.
The LORD has caused to be forgotten
The appointed feast and sabbath in Zion,
And He has despised king and priest
In the indignation of His anger.
Разорил Он шатер Свой, как шалаш в огороде,4
Он разрушил место собрания Своего.
Господь заставил Сион забыть
праздники и субботы.
В свирепом гневе Он отверг
царя и священника.
He has abandoned His sanctuary;
He has delivered into the hand of the enemy
The walls of her palaces.
They have made a noise in the house of the LORD
As in the day of an appointed feast.
Владыка отверг Свой жертвенник
и оставил Свое святилище;
отдал Он в руки врагов
стены дворцов Сиона.
Неприятели подняли шум в доме Господа,
словно в праздничный день.
The wall of the daughter of Zion.
He has stretched out a line,
He has not restrained His hand from destroying,
And He has caused rampart and wall to lament;
They have languished together.
Господь решил разрушить
стену дочери Сиона;
Он протянул вервь5
и не удержал Своей руки от разорения.
Рыдали и стены и внешние укрепления,
изнывая вместе.
He has destroyed and broken her bars.
Her king and her princes are among the nations;
The law is no more.
Also, her prophets find
No vision from the LORD.
Ворота ее втоптаны в землю,
их засовы Он сломал и уничтожил.
Царь и вожди ее в изгнании
среди чужих народов.
Нет больше Закона,
и пророки ее не получают видений от Господа.
Sit on the ground, they are silent.
They have thrown dust on their heads;
They have girded themselves with sackcloth.
The virgins of Jerusalem
Have bowed their heads to the ground.
Старцы дочери Сиона
сидят безмолвно на земле,
посыпали прахом головы свои
и оделись в рубище.
Девы Иерусалима
опустили лица свои к земле.
My spirit is greatly troubled;
My heart is poured out on the earth
Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people,
When little ones and infants faint
In the streets of the city.
Глаза мои ослабли от слез,
душа моя мается,
и сердце мое пролилось на землю
из-за гибели народа моего,
из-за того, что дети и грудные младенцы
теряют сознание на улицах городских.
“Where is grain and wine?”
As they faint like a wounded man
In the streets of the city,
As their life is poured out
On their mothers’ bosom.
Они говорят своим матерям:
«Где хлеб и вино?» —
теряя сознание, подобно раненым,
на улицах городских,
испуская дух
на руках своих матерей.
To what shall I compare you,
O daughter of Jerusalem?
To what shall I liken you as I comfort you,
O virgin daughter of Zion?
For your ruin is as vast as the sea;
Who can heal you?
Что скажу я тебе?
С чем тебя сравню,
о дочь Иерусалима?
Чему уподоблю тебя,
чтоб я мог утешить тебя,
о дева, дочь Сиона?
Рана твоя глубока, как море;
кто может исцелить тебя?
False and foolish visions;
And they have not exposed your iniquity
So as to restore you from captivity,
But they have seen for you false and misleading oracles.
Видения твоих пророков
были ложными и пустыми.
Они не раскрывали твой грех,
иначе предотвратили бы твое пленение.
Их пророчества были ложными
и вводили тебя в заблуждение.
Clap their hands in derision at you;
They hiss and shake their heads
At the daughter of Jerusalem,
“Is this the city of which they said,
‘The perfection of beauty,
A joy to all the earth’?”
Руками всплескивают все проходящие мимо,
качают головой и глумятся
над дочерью Иерусалима:
«Не этот ли город называли
совершенством красоты,
радостью всей земли?»
Have opened their mouths wide against you;
They hiss and gnash their teeth.
They say, “We have swallowed her up!
Surely this is the day for which we waited;
We have reached it, we have seen it.”
Все враги твои широко разинули
пасть свою на тебя.
Они глумятся и скрежещут зубами, говоря:
«Мы поглотили ее!
Вот день, который мы так ждали,
вот и дожили мы, вот и увидели!»
He has accomplished His word
Which He commanded from days of old.
He has thrown down without sparing,
And He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you;
He has exalted the might of your adversaries.
Господь исполнил Свой замысел,
исполнил слово Свое,
провозглашенное в древние дни.
Разгромил Он тебя без пощады
и позволил врагу злорадствовать над тобою,
Он возвысил6 неприятелей твоих.
“O wall of the daughter of Zion,
Let your tears run down like a river day and night;
Give yourself no relief,
Let your eyes have no rest.
Сердца людей взывают к Владыке.
О стена дочери Сиона,
день и ночь проливай слезы ручьем,
не давай покоя себе,
не давай отдыха глазам твоим!
At the beginning of the night watches;
Pour out your heart like water
Before the presence of the Lord;
Lift up your hands to Him
For the life of your little ones
Who are faint because of hunger
At the head of every street.”
Вставай и взывай ночью,
снова и снова.
Изливай сердце свое, как воду,
в присутствии Владыки.
Простирай свои руки к Нему
и моли о жизни детей своих,
теряющих сознание от голода
на всех перекрестках.
With whom have You dealt thus?
Should women eat their offspring,
The little ones who were born healthy?
Should priest and prophet be slain
In the sanctuary of the Lord?
— Взгляни, Господи, и посмотри,
с кем Ты когда-либо поступал так,
чтобы женщины ели своих детей,
младенцев, вскормленных ими?
Чтобы убивали священника и пророка
в святилище Владыки?
Lie young and old;
My virgins and my young men
Have fallen by the sword.
You have slain them in the day of Your anger,
You have slaughtered, not sparing.
Дети и старики лежат в пыли на улицах,
мои юноши и девушки пали от меча.
Убивал Ты их в день гнева Своего,
заколал их без пощады.
My terrors on every side;
And there was no one who escaped or survived
In the day of the LORD’S anger.
Those whom I bore and reared,
My enemy annihilated them.
Ты отовсюду, как на праздник,
созвал на меня ужасы.
В день гнева Господа
никто не спасся и не уцелел.
Тех, о ком я заботилась и кого растила,
погубил мой враг.
