False Prophets Condemned
Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
І було мені слово Господнє таке:
“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy from their own inspiration, ‘Listen to the word of the LORD!
„Сину лю́дський, — пророкуй на Ізраїлевих пророків, що пророку́ють, і скажи пророкам, що провіща́ють із власного серця: Послухайте Господнього слова!
‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Woe to the foolish prophets who are following their own spirit and have seen nothing.
Так говорить Господь Бог: Горе на пророків безумних, що ходять за своїм духом та за тим, чого не бачили!
“O Israel, your prophets have been like foxes among ruins.
Твої пророки, Ізра́їлю, як ті лиси́ці в руї́нах!
“You have not gone up into the breaches, nor did you build the wall around the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the LORD.
Не ввійшли ви в проло́ми, і не загороди́ли загоро́ди над Ізраїлевим домом, щоб стати на бій Господнього дня.
“They see falsehood and lying divination who are saying, ‘The LORD declares,’ when the LORD has not sent them; yet they hope for the fulfillment of their word.
Вони бачать марно́ту та фальши́ве чарува́ння, говорячи: „Говорить Госпо́дь“, а Господь не посилав їх, та вони мають наді́ю, що спо́вниться слово.
“Did you not see a false vision and speak a lying divination when you said, ‘The LORD declares,’ but it is not I who have spoken?”’”
Хіба ж не марне́ виді́ння ви бачили, і не фальши́ве чарува́ння ви говорили? А ви кажете: „Говорить Господь“, а Я не говорив!
Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, “Because you have spoken falsehood and seen a lie, therefore behold, I am against you,” declares the Lord GOD.
Тому́ так говорить Господь Бог: За те, що ви говорите марно́ту, і бачите лжу, тому ось Я проти вас, говорить Господь Бог.
“So My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will have no place in the council of My people, nor will they be written down in the register of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel, that you may know that I am the Lord GOD.
І буде рука Моя проти пророків, що бачать марно́ту й чару́ють ілжею. Вони не будуть на раді наро́ду Мого, і в пе́репису Ізраїлевого дому не будуть запи́сані, і до землі Ізраїлевої не вві́йдуть. І пізнаєте ви, що Я — Господь Бог!
“It is definitely because they have misled My people by saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash;
Саме за те, що вони впрова́дили наро́д Мій у по́милку, говорячи „мир“, а миру нема. І він будує мура, а вони тинку́ють його будьяким ти́нком.
so tell those who plaster it over with whitewash, that it will fall. A flooding rain will come, and you, O hailstones, will fall; and a violent wind will break out.
Скажи до тих, що тинку́ють будьяким ти́нком, що мур упаде́. Буде дощ заливни́й, і ви, каміння великого гра́ду, впаде́те, і вітер бурхли́вий розва́лить мура.
“Behold, when the wall has fallen, will you not be asked, ‘Where is the plaster with which you plastered it?’”
І ось стіна впаде́. Чи ж не скажуть вам: Де той тинк, яким ви тинкува́ли?
Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, “I will make a violent wind break out in My wrath. There will also be in My anger a flooding rain and hailstones to consume it in wrath.
Тому так говорить Господь Бог: Я вчиню́, що бурхли́вий вітер вали́тиме в лютості Моїй, і буде дощ заливни́й в Моїм гніві, і камі́ння великого граду в лютості на ви́гублення.
“So I will tear down the wall which you plastered over with whitewash and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation is laid bare; and when it falls, you will be consumed in its midst. And you will know that I am the LORD.
І розіб'ю́ Я ту стіну́, яку ви обтинкува́ли будьяким ти́нком, і повалю́ її до землі, й ого́литься підва́лина її, і впаде́, і ви загинете в сере́дині його, Єрусалима, і пізнаєте, що Я — Госпо́дь!
“Thus I will spend My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it over with whitewash; and I will say to you, ‘The wall is gone and its plasterers are gone,
І докінчу́ Я лютість Свою на стіні́ та на тих, що тинку́ють її якимбудь ти́нком, і скажу́ вам: Немає стіни та її тинкува́льників,
along with the prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’ declares the Lord GOD.
Ізраїлевих пророків, що пророкува́ли на Єрусалим і бачили для нього виді́ння миру, та немає миру, говорить Госпо́дь!
“Now you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who are prophesying from their own inspiration. Prophesy against them
А ти, сину лю́дський, зверни своє обличчя до дочо́к свого наро́ду, що пророку́ють з власного серця, і пророкуй на них,
and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Woe to the women who sew magic bands on all wrists and make veils for the heads of persons of every stature to hunt down lives! Will you hunt down the lives of My people, but preserve the lives of others for yourselves?
та й скажи: Так говорить Господь Бог: Горе тим, що шиють чародійні обв'я́зки на сугло́би рук, і роблять хустки́ на голову всякого зросту, щоб ловити ду́ші. Невже, ло́влячи душі Мого наро́ду, ви свої душі спасете?
“For handfuls of barley and fragments of bread, you have profaned Me to My people to put to death some who should not die and to keep others alive who should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies.”’”
І ви безче́стите Мене в Мого наро́ду за жмені ячме́ню та за кришки́ хліба, забиваючи душі, що не повинні б умирати, та лишаючи при житті душі, що не повинні б жити, своїми обма́нами Моєму наро́дові, що слухають лжу.
Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am against your magic bands by which you hunt lives there as birds and I will tear them from your arms; and I will let them go, even those lives whom you hunt as birds.
Тому так говорить Госпо́дь Бог: Ось Я проти ваших чародійних обв'я́зок, ув які ви ловите душі. І позриваю їх із ваших раме́н, і повипуска́ю ті душі, ті душі, що ви ловите, щоб були вільні, як пта́хи.
“I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people from your hands, and they will no longer be in your hands to be hunted; and you will know that I am the LORD.
І позриваю ваші хустки́, і врятую наро́д Свій з вашої руки, і не будуть вони вже в вашій руці за здо́бич, і пізнаєте ви, що Я — Господь.
“Because you disheartened the righteous with falsehood when I did not cause him grief, but have encouraged the wicked not to turn from his wicked way and preserve his life,
За те, що ви лжею заподі́яли біль серцю праведного, хоч Я не зробив йому бо́лю, і за те, що ви змі́цнюєте руки безбожного, щоб він не відвернувся від своєї злої дороги, щоб спасти́ його при житті,
therefore, you women will no longer see false visions or practice divination, and I will deliver My people out of your hand. Thus you will know that I am the LORD.”
тому́ більш не бу́дете бачити марно́ти та не будете віщува́ти, і Я врятую народ Свій з вашої руки, і ви пізнаєте, що Я — Госпо́дь!“
