It will be a day of clouds,
A time of doom for the nations.

- бо близько Господній день, буде день кінця народів!
“A sword will come upon Egypt,
And anguish will be in Ethiopia;
When the slain fall in Egypt,
They take away her wealth,
And her foundations are torn down.

- І прийде меч на єгиптян, і буде замішання в Ефіопії, і впадуть побиті в Єгипті, і впаде його основа.
“Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all Arabia, Libya and the people of the land that is in league will fall with them by the sword.”
Перси і критяни, лудійці та лівійці — усі змішані, і із синів Мого завіту впадуть від цього меча.
‘Thus says the LORD,
“Indeed, those who support Egypt will fall
And the pride of her power will come down;
From Migdol to Syene
They will fall within her by the sword,”

І впадуть підпори Єгипту, і зійде гордість її сили з Маґдолу аж до Суини. Від меча впадуть у ньому, — говорить Господь.
“They will be desolate
In the midst of the desolated lands;
And her cities will be
In the midst of the devastated cities.

І він буде спустошеним посеред спустошених країн, і їхні міста будуть посеред спустошених міст.
“And they will know that I am the LORD,
When I set a fire in Egypt

Так говорить Господь: Я знищу безліч єгиптян рукою Навуходоносора, царя Вавилону,
“He and his people with him,

його рукою і його народу. Губителі з народів послані знищити землю, і вони оголять усі свої мечі проти Єгипту, і земля наповниться побитими,
“Moreover, I will make the Nile canals dry

і дам їхні ріки спустошеними, і знищу землю, і її повнота — у руці чужинців. Я, Господь, сказав!

And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

Адже так говорить Господь: І знищу вельмож з Мемфіса та володарів із землі Єгипту, і більше їх не буде.
“I will make Pathros desolate,
Set a fire in Zoan
And execute judgments on Thebes.

І знищу землю Патури, і дам вогонь на Танін, і зроблю помсту в Діосполі,
“I will pour out My wrath on Sin,
The stronghold of Egypt;
I will also cut off the hordes of Thebes.

і виллю Мій гнів на Саін, силу Єгипту, і знищу безліч Мемфіса.
“I will set a fire in Egypt;
Sin will writhe in anguish,
Thebes will be breached
And Memphis will have distresses daily.

І дам вогонь на Єгипет, і замішанням змішається Суина, і в Діосполі буде ущелина, і розіллються води.
“The young men of On and of Pi-beseth
Will fall by the sword,

Молодці Еліополя і Вуваста впадуть від меча, а жінки підуть у полон.
“In Tehaphnehes the day will be dark
When I break there the yoke bars of Egypt.

І в Тафнаху потемніє день, коли Я там розіб’ю скіпетри Єгипту і знищу там гордість його сили, і його покриє хмара, і його дочки ведені будуть полонянками.
“Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt,
And they will know that I am the LORD.”’”

І Я вчиню суд у Єгипті, і пізнають, що Я — Господь.
Victory for Babylon
In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
І сталося, що в одинадцятому році, у першому місяці, у сьомий день місяця до мене було Господнє слово, що промовляло:
“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, behold, it has not been bound up for healing or wrapped with a bandage, that it may be strong to hold the sword.
Людський сину, Я розбив руки [1] фараона, царя Єгипту, і ось він не перев’язаний, щоб отримати лікування, аби покласти на нього пластир, щоб дати силу вхопитися за меч.
“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong and the broken; and I will make the sword fall from his hand.

‘For I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand; and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, so that he will groan before him with the groanings of a wounded man.
І скріплю руки царя Вавилону, і дам Свого меча в його руку, і він наведе його проти Єгипту та розділить його грабунок і захопить його здобич.
‘Thus I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.
І скріплю руки царя Вавилону, а руки фараона впадуть. І пізнають, що Я — Господь, коли Я дам Свого меча в руки царя Вавилону, і він його простягне проти єгипетської землі.
