Then, as soon as the king heard this statement, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel; and even until sunset he kept exerting himself to rescue him.

Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him. -

Then the king, when he heard these words, was much distressed and set his mind to deliver Daniel. And he labored till the sun went down to rescue him. -
Hearing this, the king was deeply troubled, and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.

Царь, услышав это, сильно опечалился и положил в сердце своём спасти Даниила, и даже до захождения солнца усиленно старался избавить его.

Царь, почувши се, засмутився дуже й задумав в серцї свойму спасти Даниїла, й аж до заходу сонця намагався його визволити. -
Тоді вони відповіли́ та й сказали перед царем: „Даниїл, що з вигна́ння Юдиних синів, не звернув уваги на тебе, о ца́рю, та на заборону, яку написав ти, і в три уста́лені порі́ на день приносить свою молитву“.

Услышав это, царь был очень расстроен; он решил спасти Даниила и до захода солнца всячески пытался это сделать.

Тоді вони відповіли перед царем, і кажуть: Даниїл, що із синів юдейських полонених, не підкорився твоєму декретові стосовно рішення, яке ти видав, і три часи на день заносить до свого Бога свої прохання!
