За першого року Дарія, Ахашверо́шового сина, з насіння мі́дян, що зацарював над халдейським царством,
in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years.
за першого року його царюва́ння я, Даниїл, бачив у книгах число тих ро́ків, про які було́ Господнє слово до пророка Єремії, — що спо́вниться для руїн Єрусалиму сімдеся́т ро́ків.
So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.
І звернув я своє обличчя до Господа Бога, — проха́ти з молитвою та з блага́ннями, у по́сті, у вере́тищі та в по́пелі.
I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed and said, “Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,
І молився я Господе́ві, Богові своєму, і сповіда́вся й казав: „О мій Господи, Боже великий і грізни́й, що стережеш заповіта та милість для тих, хто кохає Тебе, та для тих, хто виконує Твої за́повіді!
we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
Ми прогрішилися та чинили беззако́ння, і були несправедливі, і бунтува́лися, і відверта́лися від Твоїх заповідей та від постанов Твоїх.
“Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, our fathers and all the people of the land.
І не прислуха́лися ми до Твоїх рабів пророків, що говорили в Твоїм Імені до наших царів, наших начальників та наших батьків, і до всього наро́ду землі.
“Righteousness belongs to You, O Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day — to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.
Тобі, Господи, справедливість, а нам сором на обличчя, як цього дня для юдея, і для ме́шканців Єрусалиму, і для всього Ізраїля, близьки́х та далеких, по всіх тих края́х, куди Ти їх вигнав за їхнє спроневі́рення, що допустилися його перед Тобою.
“Open shame belongs to us, O Lord, to our kings, our princes and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.
Господи, сором на обличчя нам, нашим царям, князя́м нашим та нашим батька́м, що згрішили перед Тобою!
“To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him;
А Господе́ві, нашому Богові, — милість та про́щення, бо ми бунтува́лися проти Нього,
nor have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.
і не слухалися голосу Господа, нашого Бога, щоб ходити зако́нами Його, які Він дав нам через Своїх рабів пророків.
“Indeed all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us, along with the oath which is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against Him.
І ввесь Ізраїль переступив Зако́на Твого, і відвернулися, щоб не слухатися Твого голосу, і було вилите на нас те прокля́ття й та прися́га, що написана в Зако́ні Мойсея, Божого раба, бо ми прогріши́лися Йому.
“Thus He has confirmed His words which He had spoken against us and against our rulers who ruled us, to bring on us great calamity; for under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what was done to Jerusalem.
І Він спо́внив Своє слово, яке говорив на нас та на наших су́ддів, що судили нас, щоб спрова́дити на нас велике зло, — такого не було вчи́нено під ці́лим небом, яке було́ вчинене в Єрусалимі!
“As it is written in the law of Moses, all this calamity has come on us; yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our iniquity and giving attention to Your truth.
Як написано в Мойсеєвому Зако́ні, усе те лихо прийшло на нас, та ми не вблагали Господа, нашого Бога, щоб вернутися нам від свого гріха́, і щоб порозумнішати в Твоїй правді.
“Therefore the LORD has kept the calamity in store and brought it on us; for the LORD our God is righteous with respect to all His deeds which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.
І Господь пильнував того лиха, і спровадив його на нас, бо справедливий Господь, Бог наш, у всіх Своїх чи́нах, які Він зробив, та ми не слухали Його голосу.
“And now, O Lord our God, who have brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and have made a name for Yourself, as it is this day — we have sinned, we have been wicked.
А тепер, Господи, Боже наш, що вивів з єгипетського краю Свій наро́д поту́жною рукою, і зробив Собі славне Ім'я́, як цього дня, — згрішили ми, стали несправедливі!
“O Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us.
Господи, у міру всієї Твоєї справедливости нехай відве́рнеться гнів Твій та Твоя ревність від Твого міста Єрусалиму, Твоєї святої гори́, бо через наші гріхи та через провини наших батьків Єрусалим та наро́д Твій відда́ний на га́ньбу для всіх наших око́лиць.
“So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplications, and for Your sake, O Lord, let Your face shine on Your desolate sanctuary.
І ни́ні прислу́хайся, Боже наш, до молитви Твого раба та до його блага́нь, і нехай засві́титься Твоє лице над Твоєю спусто́шеною святинею, ради Господа!
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.
Нахили, Боже мій, вухо Своє та й послухай, відкрий Свої очі й побач наші спусто́шення та те місто, де кли́калося Ім'я́ Твоє в ньому, бо ми кладемо свої блага́ння перед Твоїм лицем не через свої справедливості, але через велику Твою милість.
“O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”
Господи, вислухай! Господи, прости! Господи, прислу́хайся й зроби! Не опізняйся ради Себе, мій Боже, бо Ім'я́ Твоє кли́четься над Твоїм містом і над Твоїм наро́дом!“
Gabriel Brings an Answer
Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God,
А ще я говорив і молився, та іспові́дував гріх свій та наро́ду мого Ізраїля, і клав свою молитву перед лице Господа, мого Бога, за святу го́ру мого Бога,
while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.
і ще я говорив на цій молитві, а той муж Гавриїл, якого я бачив у видінні напоча́тку, швидко прилетів, і доторкну́вся до мене за ча́су вечірньої хлі́бної жертви.
He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding.
І він напу́чував мене, і говорив зо мною та й сказав: „Даниїле, я тепер вийшов, щоб умудри́ти тебе в розумінні.
“At the beginning of your supplications the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed; so give heed to the message and gain understanding of the vision.
На поча́тку молито́в твоїх вийшло слово, і я прийшов об'явити його тобі, бо ти улю́блений, і приглянься до цього слова, і придивися до виді́ння.
Seventy Weeks and the Messiah
“Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.
Сімдеся́т ро́ків-ти́жнів призна́чено для твого наро́ду та для міста твоєї святині, аж поки пере́ступ буде докі́нчений, і міра гріха́ буде повна, аж поки вина буде споку́тувана, і вічна правда приве́дена, аж поки будуть потверджені видіння й пророк, і щоб пома́зати Святеє Святих.
“So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.
Та знай і розумій: від ви́ходу нака́зу, щоб вернути Ізраїля й збудувати Єрусалим, аж до Владики Месі́ї сім тижнів та шістдеся́т і два тижні. І ве́рнеться наро́д, і відбудо́ваний буде майда́н і вулиця, і то буде за тяжко́го ча́су.
“Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
І по тих шостидесятьо́х і двох ти́жнях буде погу́блений Месі́я, хоч не буде на Ньому вини. А це місто й святиню знищить наро́д воло́даря, що при́йде, а кінець його — у пові́дді. І аж до кінця буде війна, гострі спусто́шення.
“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
І він зміцни́ть заповіта для багатьох на один ти́ждень, а на півтижня припинить жертву та жертву хлібну. І на святиню при́йде гидо́та спусто́шення, поки зни́щення й рішучий суд кари не виллється на спустоши́теля“.
