Фарисеям16 и саддукеям,17 которые приходили к нему, Иоанн сказал:
— Вы, змеиное отродье! Кто предупредил вас, чтобы вы бежали от грядущего гнева? -
А коли він побачив, що багато фарисеїв [1] і садукеїв [2] приходять на хрещення до нього, то сказав їм: Поріддя гадюче, хто підказав вам втікати від майбутнього гніву?
