for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry.

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
И сказал Ему дьявол: "Если Ты Сын Божий, то вели, чтобы этот камень превратился в хлеб".
And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.’”
Иисус ответил: "Написано: "не хлебом единым жив человек".
And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
и сказал Ему: "Я дарую Тебе все эти царства с их властью и славой, ибо отданы они мне, и я могу даровать их кому пожелаю.
“Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.”
Если станешь поклоняться мне, все это будет Твоё".
Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’”
И ответил ему Иисус: "Написано: "Поклоняться будешь только Господу Богу твоему, и служить будешь только Ему".
And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here;
И повёл тогда дьявол Иисуса в Иерусалим, и поставил Его на самой высокой башне храма и сказал Ему: "Если Ты Сын Божий, то прыгни отсюда вниз,
for it is written,
‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,’
‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,’
ибо написано: "Бог повелит Своим ангелам охранять Тебя".
and,
‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP,
SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’”

And Jesus answered and said to him, “It is said, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’”
И ответил Иисус: "Но сказано также: "Не искушай Господа Бога твоего".
When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.
И прекратил тогда дьявол искушать Иисуса и ушёл прочь до более удобного случая.
Jesus’ Public Ministry
And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
Иисус же возвратился в Галилею, исполненный силы Святого Духа, и молва о Нём пошла по всей стране.
And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.
И стал Он учить в синагогах, и все прославляли Его.
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.
И пришёл Он в Назарет, в город, где вырос. В субботний день пошёл Он по Своему обыкновению в синагогу и встал, чтобы читать писания перед присутствующими.
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
И дали Ему книгу пророка Исайи, и, открыв книгу, нашёл Он место, где было написано:
“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
"Дух Господний во Мне. Бог призвал Меня, чтобы благовествовать нищим. Он послал Меня объявить свободу пленным, возвратить зрение слепым, отпустить измученных на свободу,
And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
Потом Он закрыл книгу и отдал её служителю. Он сел, и глаза всех в синагоге были устремлены на Него.
And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
И Он начал говорить им: "Сегодня сказанное в Писании свершилось пред вами".
And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”
И Он снискал всеобщее одобрение, и все были поражены Его красноречием и спрашивали: "Не сын ли это Иосифа?"
And He said to them, “No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’”
И сказал Он: "Конечно, вы скажете Мне, как гласит пословица: "Врач, исцели Самого Себя". Вы хотите сказать: "Мы слышали о том, что произошло в Капернауме. Сотвори же здесь, в Твоём родном городе, то же самое".
And He said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.
И сказал Он: "Воистину, не принимают пророка в родном городе.
“But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land;
Истинно говорю вам: множество вдов было в Израиле в дни Илии, когда не было дождя три с половиной года, и великий голод царил в стране.
and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
И ни к кому из них не был послан Илия, кроме одной вдовы из Сарепты, в Сидоне.
“And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.”
И было множество прокажённых в Израиле во времена пророка Елисея, но никто из них не очистился от язв, кроме Неемана-сирийца".
And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things;
И все, кто присутствовал в синагоге и слышал эти слова, преисполнились ярости
and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.
и поднялись, и изгнали Его из города. Приведя Его на склон горы, на которой стоял их город, они хотели сбросить Его с утёса.
But passing through their midst, He went His way.
Но Иисус прошёл сквозь толпу и отправился Своей дорогой.
And He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;
Иисус направился в Капернаум, город в Галилее. В день субботний Иисус учил народ,
and they were amazed at His teaching, for His message was with authority.
и не переставали удивляться все вокруг, ибо слово Его было исполнено силы.
In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
И был человек в синагоге, одержимый нечистым духом, и закричал он громко:
“Let us alone! What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are — the Holy One of God!”
"О! Кто Ты такой, чтобы вмешиваться в наши дела, Иисус из Назарета? Зачем Ты явился сюда? Чтобы погубить нас? Я знаю, кто Ты такой — Святой Божий!"
But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst of the people, he came out of him without doing him any harm.
Но Иисус велел нечистому духу, чтобы тот прекратил это, сказав: "Замолчи, и выйди из этого человека!" И тогда нечистый дух поверг того человека наземь перед толпой и вышел из него, не причинив ему никакого вреда.
And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another saying, “What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits and they come out.”
Все, видевшие это, были потрясены случившимся и обсуждали это между собой, говоря: "Что это значит? Он разговаривает с нечистыми духами, приказывает им властью Своею, и они выходят".
And the report about Him was spreading into every locality in the surrounding district.
И весть о Нём распространилась по всей округе.
Many Are Healed
Then He got up and left the synagogue, and entered Simon’s home. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him to help her.
Иисус покинул синагогу и отправился в дом к Симону. Тёща Симона лежала в горячке, и Иисуса попросили помочь ей.
And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and waited on them.
Стоя над ней, Он приказал, и горячка покинула её тело, и женщина тут же поднялась и стала им прислуживать.
While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them.
К заходу солнца все привели или принесли к Иисусу страдающих различными болезнями, и Он возложил на них руки и исцелил их.
Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.
Из многих больных вышли бесы, восклицая: "Ты — Сын Божий!" Но Он запрещал им говорить, ибо знали они, что Он — Христос.
When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them.
С наступлением дня Он удалился в уединённое место, но множество народа искало Его, и все приходили к Нему и пытались удержать Его, чтобы Он не покинул их.
But He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.”
Но Иисус сказал им: "Я должен нести благую весть о Царстве Божьем и в другие города, ибо Я был послан для этого".
