Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;

this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
Однажды вечером Никодим пришёл к Иисусу и сказал: "Равви, мы знаем, что Ты Учитель, посланный нам Богом, ибо никто не в состоянии был бы свершать чудеса, доступные Тебе, если бы Бог не помогал ему".
Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Иисус ответил: "Истинно говорю: только тот, кто снова родился, может попасть в Царство Божье".
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?”
Никодим сказал Ему: "Как может старый человек родиться снова? Ведь не может же он возвратиться в материнскую утробу и родиться во второй раз?"
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Иисус ответил: "Истинно говорю: тот, кто не возродится через воду и Дух Святой, не сможет попасть в Царство Божье.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Плоть людская рождается от плоти, дух же рождается от Святого Духа.
“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
Не удивляйся, что Я сказал тебе: "Ты должен родиться снова".
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Ветер дует, куда ему угодно. Ты слышишь шум его, но не знаешь, откуда и куда он дует. Так и тот, кто родился от Духа".
Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?
Иисус ответил: "Ты наставник израильтян и не знаешь этого?
“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony.
Истинно говорю: мы говорим лишь о том, что знаем, и о том, что сами видели. Но вы не принимаете того, что мы проповедуем.
“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
Я рассказывал вам о земном, и вы не верили Мне. Как же вы сможете поверить Мне, если Я расскажу вам о небесном?
“No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.
Никто не был на небесах, кроме Того, Кто спустился оттуда: Сына Человеческого.
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
Моисей поднял на шест змею в пустыне. Так и Сын Человеческий должен быть вознесён,
so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
чтобы те, кто уверует в Него, обрели вечную жизнь".
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Ибо Бог так возлюбил этот мир, что пожертвовал Своим единственным Сыном ради того, чтобы каждый, кто уверует в Него, не погиб, а обрёл вечную жизнь.
“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
Не для того послал Бог Своего Сына в мир, чтобы осудить его, а для того, чтобы спасти мир через Него.
“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Тот, кто уверует в Сына, не будет осуждён. Но тот, кто не верит, уже осуждён, ибо не уверовал в единственного Сына Божьего.
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.
Вот почему они осуждены: свет воссиял в этом мире, но люди предпочли свету тьму, ибо дела их злы.
“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Каждый, кто делает злые дела, ненавидит свет, и избегает его, чтобы низость его поступков не вышла наружу.
“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

John’s Last Testimony
After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing.
После этого Иисус отправился со Своими учениками в землю Иудейскую. Он оставался там некоторое время и крестил народ.
John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people were coming and were being baptized —
В то же самое время, Иоанн крестил людей в Еноне, что неподалеку от Салима, ибо там было много воды. Люди приходили к нему и крестились,
for John had not yet been thrown into prison.
ибо Иоанна в то время ещё не заключили в темницу.
Therefore there arose a discussion on the part of John’s disciples with a Jew about purification.
Некоторые из учеников Иоанна Крестителя, затеяв спор с одним иудеем об очистительном омовении,
And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”
пришли к Иоанну и сказали: "Равви, Тот, Кто был с тобой по ту сторону Иордана и о Ком ты говорил людям, — так вот, Он крестит людей, и все стекаются к Нему".
John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
Иоанн ответил: "Человек может иметь только то, что дал ему Бог.
“You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’
Вы сами были свидетелями того, что я сказал: "Я не Христос, я только послан Богом, чтобы подготовить для Него путь".
“He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.
Невеста может принадлежать лишь своему жениху. Друг жениха может лишь стоять и прислушиваться, когда придёт жених, и радоваться, услышав его голос. Так и я исполнен счастья сейчас.
“He must increase, but I must decrease.
Ибо Ему должно возрастать, мне же становиться всё меньше".
“He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
"Тот, Кто явился свыше, превосходит величием всех обитателей этого мира, тот же, кто обитает на этой земле, принадлежит всему земному и говорит лишь о земном. Тот, Кто сошёл с небес, выше всех.
“What He has seen and heard, of that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.
Он говорит о том, что видел и слышал, но люди не принимают Его свидетельства.
“He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.
Тот, кто принимает Его слова, верует, что Бог истинен.
“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.
Тот, Кто послан Богом, говорит Божьими словами, ибо сполна одарил Его Господь Духом Святым.
“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.
