Jesus Teaches at the Feast
After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.

Після цього Ісус ходив по Галілеї, не хотів бо ходи́ти по Юдеї, бо юдеї шукали наго́ди, щоб убити Його.
Therefore His brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.
І сказали до Нього брати Його: „Піди звідси, і йди до Юдеї, щоб і учні Твої побачили вчинки Твої, що Ти робиш.
“For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”
Тайкома́ бо не робить нічо́го ніхто, але сам прагне бути відо́мий. Коли Ти таке чиниш, то з'яви́ Себе світові“.
So Jesus said to them, “My time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.
А Ісус промовляє до них: „Не настав ще Мій час, але за́вжди готовий час ваш.
“The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
Вас нена́видіти світ не може, а Мене він нена́видить, бо Я сві́дчу про нього, що діла́ його злі.
“Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.”
Ідіть на це свято, Я ж іще не піду́ на це свято, бо не ви́повнився ще Мій час“.
Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
Це сказавши до них, Він зоставсь у Галілеї.
But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.
Коли ж вийшли на свято брати Його, тоді й Сам Він пішов, — не відкрито, але́ ніби по́тай.
So the Jews were seeking Him at the feast and were saying, “Where is He?”
А юдеї за свята шукали Його та питали: „Де Він?“
There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning Him; some were saying, “He is a good man”; others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He leads the people astray.”
І поголо́ска велика про Нього в наро́ді була. Одні говорили: „Він добрий“, а інші казали: „Ні, — Він зводить з дороги наро́д“.
Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
Та відкрито про Нього ніхто не казав, — бо боялись юдеїв.
But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.
У половині вже свята Ісус у храм увійшов і навчав.
The Jews then were astonished, saying, “How has this man become learned, having never been educated?”
І дивувались юдеї й казали: „Як Він знає Писа́ння, не вчившись?“
So Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
Відповів їм Ісус і сказав: „Наука Моя — не Моя, а Того, Хто послав Мене.
“If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.
Коли хоче хто волю чинити Його, той довідається про науку, чи від Бога вона, чи від Себе Самого кажу́ Я.
“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Хто говорить від себе самого, той власної слави шукає, а Хто слави шукає Того, Хто послав Його, Той правдивий, — і в Ньому неправедности нема.
“Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
Чи ж Зако́на вам дав не Мойсей? Та ніхто з вас Зако́на того не виконує. На́що хочете вбити Мене?“
The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?”
Наро́д відповів: „Чи Ти де́мона маєш? Хто Тебе хоче вбити?“
Jesus answered them, “I did one deed, and you all marvel.
Ісус відповів і сказав їм: „Одне ді́ло зробив Я, — і всі ви дивуєтесь.
“For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.
Через це Мойсей дав обрі́зання вам, — не тому́, що воно від Мойсея, але від отців, — та ви й у суботу обрізуєте чоловіка.
“If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?
Коли ж чоловік у суботу приймає обрі́зання, щоб Зако́ну Мойсеєвого не порушити, чого ж ре́мствуєте ви на Мене, що Я всю люди́ну в суботу вздоро́вив?
“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
Не судіть за обличчям, але суд справедливий чиніть!“
So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?
Дехто ж з єрусали́млян казали: „Хіба́ це не Той, що Його шукають убити?
“Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. The rulers do not really know that this is the Christ, do they?
Бо говорить відкрито ось Він, — і нічого не кажуть Йому. Чи то справді дізналися старші, що Він дійсно Христос?
“However, we know where this man is from; but whenever the Christ may come, no one knows where He is from.”
Та ми знаєм Цього, звідки Він. Про Христа ж, коли при́йде, ніхто знати не бу́де, звідки Він“.
Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
І скликнув у храмі Ісус, навчаючи й кажучи: „І Мене знаєте ви, і знаєте, звідки Я. А Я не прийшов Сам від Себе; правдивий же Той, Хто послав Мене, що Його ви не знаєте.
“I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent Me.”
Я знаю Його, — Я бо від Нього, і послав Мене Він!“
So they were seeking to seize Him; and no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
Тож шукали вони, щоб схопи́ти Його, та ніхто не наклав рук на Нього, — бо то ще не настала година Його́.
But many of the crowd believed in Him; and they were saying, “When the Christ comes, He will not perform more signs than those which this man has, will He?”
А багато з наро́ду в Нього ввірували та казали: „Коли при́йде Христос, чи ж Він чу́да чинитиме більші, як чинить Оцей?“
The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him.
Фарисеї прочули такі поголо́ски про Нього в наро́ді. Тоді первосвященики та фарисеї послали свою́ службу, щоб схопи́ти Його.
Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to Him who sent Me.
Ісус же сказав: „Ще недовго побу́ду Я з вами, та й до Того піду́, Хто послав Мене.
“You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
Ви бу́дете шукати Мене, — і не зна́йдете; а туди, де Я є, ви прибути не можете“.
The Jews then said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we will not find Him? He is not intending to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is He?
Тоді говорили юдеї між собою: „Куди це Він хоче йти, що не зна́йдемо Його? Чи не хоче йти до виселе́нців між греки, та й греків навчати?
“What is this statement that He said, ‘You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come’?”
Що за слово, яке Він сказав: „Ви бу́дете шукати Мене, — і не знайдете; а туди, де Я є, ви прибути не можете?“
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
А останнього великого дня свята Ісус стояв і кликав, говорячи: „Коли прагне хто з вас — нехай при́йде до Мене та й п'є!
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”
Хто вірує в Мене, як каже Писа́ння, то ріки живої води потечуть із утро́би його́“.
But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Це ж сказав Він про Духа, що мали прийняти Його, хто ввірував у Нього. Не було́ бо ще Духа на них, — не був бо Ісус ще просла́влений.
Division of People over Jesus
Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This certainly is the Prophet.”
А багато з наро́ду, почувши слова́ ті, казали: „Він справді пророк!“
Others were saying, “This is the Christ.” Still others were saying, “Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He?
Інші казали: „Він Христос“. А ще інші казали: „Хіба при́йде Христос із Галілеї?
“Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”
Чи ж не каже Писа́ння, що Христос при́йде з роду Давидового, і з села Вифлеє́му, звідкіля́ був Давид?“
So a division occurred in the crowd because of Him.
Так повстала незгода в наро́ді з-за Нього.
Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
А де́котрі з них мали замір схопи́ти Його́, — та ніхто не поклав рук на Нього.
The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”
І вернулася слу́жба до первосвящеників та фарисеїв, а ті їх запитали: „Чому не привели́ ви Його?“
The officers answered, “Never has a man spoken the way this man speaks.”
Відказала та слу́жба: „Чоловік ще ніко́ли так не промовляв, як Оцей Чоловік“.
The Pharisees then answered them, “You have not also been led astray, have you?
А їм відповіли́ фарисеї: „Чи й вас із дороги не зве́дено?
“No one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?
Хіба́ хто з старши́х або з фарисеїв увірував у Нього?
“But this crowd which does not know the Law is accursed.”
Та прокля́тий народ, що не знає Зако́ну!“
Nicodemus (he who came to Him before, being one of them) said to them,
Говорить до них Никоди́м, що приходив до Ньо́го вночі, і що був один із них:
“Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?”
„Хіба судить Зако́н наш люди́ну, як перше її не вислухає, і не дізнається, що́ вона робить?“
They answered him, “You are not also from Galilee, are you? Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.”
Йому відповіли та сказали вони: „Чи й ти не з Галілеї? Досліди та побач, що не при́йде Пророк із Галілеї“.
