“You shall therefore love the LORD your God, and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.

І будеш ти любити Господа, Бога свого, і будеш доде́ржувати постанови Його, і звича́ї Його, і зако́ни Його, і заповіді Його по всі дні.
“Know this day that I am not speaking with your sons who have not known and who have not seen the discipline of the LORD your God — His greatness, His mighty hand and His outstretched arm,
І ви пізнаєте сьогодні, — бо я навчаю не синів ваших, які не пізнали й не бачили кара́ння Господа, Бога вашого, — величність Його, руку Його сильну й раме́но Його ви́тягнене,
and His signs and His works which He did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and to all his land;
і ознаки Його, і чини Його, що зробив був серед Єгипту фараонові, єгипетському царе́ві та всьому́ його кра́єві,
and what He did to Egypt’s army, to its horses and its chariots, when He made the water of the Red Sea to engulf them while they were pursuing you, and the LORD completely destroyed them;
і що́ Він зробив був війську Єгипта, ко́ням його та колесни́цям його, що пустив над ними воду Червоного моря, коли вони гнались за вами, і вигубив їх Господь, і так є аж до дня цього,
and what He did to you in the wilderness until you came to this place;
і що́ Він зробив був для вас у пустині аж до вашого прихо́ду до цього місця,
and what He did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that followed them, among all Israel —
і що́ Він зробив був Дата́нові й Авіро́нові, синам Еліява, Рувимового сина, що земля відкрила була свої уста й погли́нула їх, і їхні доми́, і їхні намети, і всю власність, що була з ними, посеред усього Ізраїля.
but your own eyes have seen all the great work of the LORD which He did.
Бо очі ваші — то ті, що бачили всякий великий чин Господа, що Він зробив.
“You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land into which you are about to cross to possess it;
І будете ви вико́нувати всі заповіді Його́, що я сьогодні наказую, щоб стали ви сильні, і ввійшли, і заволоділи тим кра́єм, куди перехо́дите ви, щоб посісти його,
so that you may prolong your days on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
і щоб довго жили ви на тій землі, що Господь присягну́в був вашим батька́м дати їм та їхньому насінню край, що тече молоком та медом.
“For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you used to sow your seed and water it with your foot like a vegetable garden.
Бо цей край, куди входиш ти заволодіти ним, він не такий, як єгипетський край, звідки вийшли ви, де ти засієш було насіння своє й полива́єш працею ніг своїх, як горо́д варивни́й.
“But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven,
А цей край, куди ви перехо́дите посісти його, то край гір та долин, — із небесного дощу́ він напо́юється.
a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.
край, що про нього дбає Господь, Бог твій, за́вжди на ньому очі Господа, Бога твого, від поча́тку року аж до кінця року.
“It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul,
І станеться, якщо справді ви будете слухати Моїх заповідей, що Я вам сьогодні наказую, — любити Господа, Бога вашого, і служити Йому всім вашим серцем і всією вашою душею,
that He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early and late rain, that you may gather in your grain and your new wine and your oil.
то Я дам вам дощ вашого кра́ю своєча́сно, дощ ра́нній і дощ пі́зній, і збереш ти своє збіжжя, і свій сік виноградний, і оливу свою.
“He will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.
І дам Я траву на твоїм полі для твоєї худоби, і будеш ти їсти й наси́тишся.
“Beware that your hearts are not deceived, and that you do not turn away and serve other gods and worship them.
Стережіться, щоб не було зве́дене ваше серце, і щоб ви не відступили, і не служили іншим бога́м, і не вклонялися їм.
“Or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the heavens so that there will be no rain and the ground will not yield its fruit; and you will perish quickly from the good land which the LORD is giving you.
А то запалиться гнів Господній на вас, і замкне́ небо, і не буде дощу́, а земля не дасть свого урожаю, і ви скоро погинете з тієї доброї землі, що Господь дає вам.
“You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.
І покладете ви ці слова́ Мої на свої серця́ та на свої ду́ші, і прив'яжете їх на зна́ка на руці своїй, і вони будуть пов'я́зкою між вашими очима.
“You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.
І будете навчати про них синів своїх, говорячи про них, коли ти сидітимеш у домі своїм, і коли ходитимеш дорогою, і коли лежатимеш, і коли вставатимеш.
“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,
І ти понаписуєш їх на бічни́х одві́рках дому свого і на брамах своїх,
so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth.
щоб дні ваші та дні синів ваших на землі, яку́ Господь присягнув був батькам вашим дати їм, були такі довгі, як дні неба над землею.
“For if you are careful to keep all this commandment which I am commanding you to do, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and hold fast to Him,
Бо якщо будете ви конче виконувати всі ті заповіді, що я наказав вам чинити їх, — щоб любити Господа, Бога свого, щоб ходити всіма́ доро́гами Його, і щоб горну́тись до Нього, —
then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.
то Господь вижене всі ті народи перед вами, і ви посядете народи більші й міцніші від вас.
“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours; your border will be from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the river, the river Euphrates, as far as the western sea.
Кожне місце, що на нього ступить ваша нога, буде ваше. Від пустині й Ливану, від Річки, річки Ефра́ту й аж до моря Оста́ннього буде ваша границя.
“No man will be able to stand before you; the LORD your God will lay the dread of you and the fear of you on all the land on which you set foot, as He has spoken to you.
Не всто́їть ніхто перед вами, — ляк перед вами й страх перед вами дасть Господь, Бог ваш, на кожен той край, що ви ступите на нього, як Він говорив вам.
“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:
Ось, сьогодні я даю перед вами благослове́ння й прокля́ття:
the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I am commanding you today;
благослове́ння, коли будете слухатися заповідей Господа, Бога вашого, які я наказую вам сьогодні,
and the curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by following other gods which you have not known.
і прокля́ття, якщо не будете слухатися заповідей Господа, Бога свого, і збо́чите з дороги, яку я наказую вам сьогодні, щоб ходити за іншими бога́ми, яких ви не знали.
“It shall come about, when the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, that you shall place the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.
І станеться, коли Господь, Бог твій, уведе́ тебе до краю, куди ти входиш посісти його, то даси благослове́ння на горі Ґарізі́м, а прокля́ття на горі Ева́л.
“Are they not across the Jordan, west of the way toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah, opposite Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
От вони на то́му боці Йорда́ну за дорогою за́ходу сонця, у кра́ю ханаанеянина, що сидить у степу́ навпроти Ґілґалу при діброві Море́.
“For you are about to cross the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and you shall possess it and live in it,
Бо ви переходите Йорда́н, щоб увійти посісти той край, що дає вам Господь, Бог ваш. І посядете його, й осядете в ньому,
