Darby Bible Translation

  • Dedicated Service

    Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
  • Living Sacrifices

    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your intelligent service.
  • And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
  • And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  • For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
  • For I say, through the grace which has been given to me, to every one that is among you, not to have high thoughts above what he should think; but to think so as to be wise, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith.
  • For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function,
  • For, as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office;
  • so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
  • thus we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and each one members one of the other.
  • Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
  • But having different gifts, according to the grace which has been given to us, whether [it be] prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;
  • if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;
  • or service, [let us occupy ourselves] in service; or he that teaches, in teaching;
  • or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
  • or he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, in simplicity; he that leads, with diligence; he that shews mercy, with cheerfulness.
  • Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
  • Love, Zeal, Hope, Hospitality

    Let love be unfeigned; abhorring evil; cleaving to good:
  • Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
  • as to brotherly love, kindly affectioned towards one another: as to honour, each taking the lead in paying it to the other:
  • not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
  • as to diligent zealousness, not slothful; in spirit fervent; serving the Lord.
  • rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
  • As regards hope, rejoicing: as regards tribulation, enduring: as regards prayer, persevering:
  • contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
  • distributing to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.
  • Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
  • Forgiveness

    Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.
  • Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
  • Rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep.
  • Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
  • Have the same respect one for another, not minding high things, but going along with the lowly: be not wise in your own eyes:
  • Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
  • recompensing to no one evil for evil: providing things honest before all men:
  • If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
  • if possible, as far as depends on you, living in peace with all men;
  • Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord.
  • not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance [belongs] to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.
  • “BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.”
  • If therefore thine enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for, so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.
  • Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
  • Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
