Israel Is Defeated at Ai
But the sons of Israel acted unfaithfully in regard to the things under the ban, for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, took some of the things under the ban, therefore the anger of the LORD burned against the sons of Israel.

Но народ Израиля не послушал Бога. Был там один человек по имени Ахан из колена Иуды. Он был сыном Хармия и внуком Завдия. Он взял часть вещей, которые должны были быть уничтожены. И Господь разгневался на народ Израиля.
Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel, and said to them, “Go up and spy out the land.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.
После разгрома Иерихона Иисус послал людей в Гай. Гай находился вблизи Беф-Авена, с восточной стороны Вефиля. Иисус сказал им: "Идите в Гай и тайно осмотрите землю". И лазутчики пошли в Гай.
They returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not let all the people go up; only about two or three thousand men need go up to Ai; do not make all the people toil up there, for they are few.”
Возвратившись к Иисусу, они сказали: "Гай слабая страна. Нет нужды посылать туда целую армию, чтобы поразить их. Пошли туда две или три тысячи человек, не посылай весь народ, так как их там мало".
So about three thousand men from the people went up there, but they fled from the men of Ai.
Тогда в Гай отправилось около трёх тысяч человек. Но жители Гая убили тридцать шесть из них, а остальных обратили в бегство.
The men of Ai struck down about thirty-six of their men, and pursued them from the gate as far as Shebarim and struck them down on the descent, so the hearts of the people melted and became as water.
Жители Гая преследовали их от ворот города до каменоломен и жестоко разгромили. Когда народ Израиля увидел это, люди очень испугались и не осталось в них храбрости.
Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the LORD until the evening, both he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.
Когда Иисус об этом узнал, он разорвал на себе одежды, выражая тем самым печаль, упал на землю перед святым ковчегом и лежал там до вечера. И старейшины Израиля тоже посыпали головы свои пылью в знак печали.
Joshua said, “Alas, O Lord GOD, why did You ever bring this people over the Jordan, only to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? If only we had been willing to dwell beyond the Jordan!
Иисус сказал: "Господь, мой Владыка! Ты перевёл наш народ через реку Иордан. Почему же ты привёл нас так далеко, чтобы дать аморреям погубить нас? Нам надо было успокоиться и остаться на другой стороне Иордана!
“O Lord, what can I say since Israel has turned their back before their enemies?
О, Господи! Что сказать мне теперь, когда Израиль сдался врагам!
“For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and they will surround us and cut off our name from the earth. And what will You do for Your great name?”
Хананеи и все народы в стране услышат о том, что произошло, нападут на нас и убьют нас всех! Что Ты сделаешь тогда, чтобы защитить Своё великое имя?"
So the LORD said to Joshua, “Rise up! Why is it that you have fallen on your face?
Господь сказал Иисусу: "Почему ты пал лицом на землю? Поднимись!
“Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. And they have even taken some of the things under the ban and have both stolen and deceived. Moreover, they have also put them among their own things.
Народ Израиля согрешил против Меня, они нарушили договор, который должны были исполнять. Они украли у Меня то, что Я приказал им уничтожить, и солгали. Они взяли эти вещи себе.
“Therefore the sons of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, for they have become accursed. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy the things under the ban from your midst.
Вот почему армия Израиля бежала с поля битвы. Они бежали потому, что совершили грех, и их надо уничтожить. Я не буду помогать тебе и не буду с тобой, если только ты не уничтожишь всё, что Я приказал тебе уничтожить.
“Rise up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for thus the LORD, the God of Israel, has said, “There are things under the ban in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you have removed the things under the ban from your midst.”
А теперь иди, освяти народ и скажи ему так: "Очиститесь и приготовьтесь к завтрашнему дню. Господь, Бог Израиля, говорит, что некоторые люди хранят вещи, которые Он приказал уничтожить. Вы не разобьёте своих врагов, пока не избавитесь от этих вещей.
‘In the morning then you shall come near by your tribes. And it shall be that the tribe which the LORD takes by lot shall come near by families, and the family which the LORD takes shall come near by households, and the household which the LORD takes shall come near man by man.
Завтра утром вы все должны стоять перед Господом. Все колена будут стоять перед Господом. Он выберет одно колено, и тогда только то колено будет стоять перед Ним. Затем Господь выберет один род из того колена, и только они будут стоять перед Господом. Затем Господь посмотрит на каждое семейство в этом племени и выберет одно семейство. ‘It shall be that the one who is taken with the things under the ban shall be burned with fire, he and all that belongs to him, because he has transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he has committed a disgraceful thing in Israel.’”
Человек, спрятавший вещи, которые вам следовало уничтожить, будет пойман и уничтожен огнём, и всё, чем он владеет, будет уничтожено вместе с ним. Человек этот нарушил соглашение с Господом и навлёк огромную беду на народ Израиля!""
The Sin of Achan
So Joshua arose early in the morning and brought Israel near by tribes, and the tribe of Judah was taken.
Рано утром Иисус привёл весь народ Израиля и поставил их перед Господом. Все колена стояли перед Господом, и Он выбрал колено Иуды.
He brought the family of Judah near, and he took the family of the Zerahites; and he brought the family of the Zerahites near man by man, and Zabdi was taken.
Всё колено Иуды стояло перед Господом, и Он выбрал род Зары и велел им подходить по семействам.
He brought his household near man by man; and Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, was taken.
Затем Иисус велел каждому мужчине из семейства Завдия подходить по одному. И Господь выбрал Ахана, сына Хармия, сына Завдия, сына Зары.
Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, I implore you, give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and give praise to Him; and tell me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.”
Тогда Иисус сказал Ахану: "Сын мой, тебе следует почитать Господа Бога и исповедаться перед Ним в грехах. Скажи мне, что ты сделал, и не пытайся ничего от меня скрыть".
So Achan answered Joshua and said, “Truly, I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel, and this is what I did:
Ахан ответил: "Это правда! Я согрешил против Господа, Бога Израиля. Вот что я сделал:
when I saw among the spoil a beautiful mantle from Shinar and two hundred shekels of silver and a bar of gold fifty shekels in weight, then I coveted them and took them; and behold, they are concealed in the earth inside my tent with the silver underneath it.”
мы захватили город Иерихон и всё, что в нём было. Я увидел красивую одежду из Вавилона, двести сиклей серебра и около пятидесяти сиклей золота, и захотел взять эти вещи себе. Они все в земле под моим шатром, а серебро спрятано под одеждой".
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and behold, it was concealed in his tent with the silver underneath it.
Иисус послал людей в шатёр, они поспешили туда и нашли спрятанное в шатре и серебро под ним.
They took them from inside the tent and brought them to Joshua and to all the sons of Israel, and they poured them out before the LORD.
Они вынесли всё это из шатра и принесли к Иисусу и всему народу; и положили всё это на землю перед Господом.
Then Joshua and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the mantle, the bar of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent and all that belonged to him; and they brought them up to the valley of Achor.
Затем Иисус и весь народ повели Ахана, сына Зарина, в долину Ахор. Они принесли также серебро, одежду и золото. Они привели сыновей и дочерей Ахана, его скот, его ослов, его овец, его шатёр и всё его имущество.
Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? The LORD will trouble you this day.” And all Israel stoned them with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.
Иисус сказал: "Ты принёс нам много бед! А теперь Господь наведёт беду на тебя!" И весь народ начал бросать камни в Ахана и его семью, пока они не умерли, а потом сожгли их и всё их имущество.
They raised over him a great heap of stones that stands to this day, and the LORD turned from the fierceness of His anger. Therefore the name of that place has been called the valley of Achor to this day.
После того, как они сожгли Ахана, они набросали на его труп груду камней, которые уцелели и по сей день. Так как Бог навёл здесь беду на Ахана, это место называется Долина Ахор. После этого гнев Господа на народ утих.
