“Difficult Times Will Come”

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

Знай же, що в останні дні настануть скрутні часи.

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

Бо люди будуть самолюбні, грошолюбні, чванливі, горді, наклепники, батькам неслухняні, невдячні, нечестиві,

unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

недружелюбні, непримиренні, обмовники, нестримані, жорстокі, які не люблять добро,

4

treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

4

зрадники, нахабні, бундючні, котрі більше люблять розкоші, ніж Бога,

5

holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

які мають вигляд благочестя, але сили його відреклися. Таких уникай.

For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,

До них належать і ті, які прокрадаються в доми і полонять жінок, обтяжених гріхами й відданих різним пожадливостям;

always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

вони завжди вчаться, та ніколи не можуть прийти до пізнання істини.

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.

Як Янній та Ямврій протиставилися Мойсеєві, так само й ці противляться правді, — люди, які зітліли розумом, недосвідчені у вірі.

But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes’s and Jambres’s folly was also.

Але великого успіху вони не матимуть, бо їхнє безумство стане очевидним для всіх, як сталося і з тими.

Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance,

Ти ж пішов слідом за моїм ученням, поведінкою, наміром, вірою, довготерпінням, любов’ю, витривалістю,

persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!

переслідуваннями, стражданнями, які мене спіткали в Антіохії, в Іконії, у Лістрах. Цих переслідувань я зазнав, та Господь від усіх мене визволив.

Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

Адже всі, хто в Ісусі Христі бажає жити благочестиво, будуть переслідувані.

But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

А лихі люди і шахраї матимуть успіх у злому, обманюючи й самі будучи обмануті.

You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,

Ти ж тримайся того, чого ти навчився і що тобі довірено, пам’ятаючи, від кого ти навчився.

15

and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

І ти змолоду знаєш Святе Писання, яке може тебе зробити мудрим для спасіння через віру в Ісуса Христа.

16

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Усе Писання богонатхненне й корисне для навчання, для докору, для виправлення, для виховання в праведності,

17

so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
