Darby Bible Translation

  • The Changeless Christ

Let love of the brethren continue.
  • Love for Brothers

    Let brotherly love abide.
  • Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
  • Be not forgetful of hospitality; for by it some have unawares entertained angels.
  • Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
  • Remember prisoners, as bound with [them]; those that are evil-treated, as being yourselves also in [the] body.
  • Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
  • [Let] marriage [be held] every way in honour, and the bed [be] undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers will God judge.
  • Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,”
  • Jesus Christ is the Same

[Let your] conversation [be] without love of money, satisfied with [your] present circumstances; for *he* has said, I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.
  • so that we confidently say,
“THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID.
WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?”
  • So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me?
  • Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.
  • Remember your leaders who have spoken to you the word of God; and considering the issue of their conversation, imitate their faith.
  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
  • Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to-day, and to the ages [to come].
  • Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
  • Be not carried away with various and strange doctrines; for [it is] good that the heart be confirmed with grace, not meats; those who have walked in which have not been profited by [them].
  • We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
  • We have an altar of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle;
  • For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp.
  • for of those beasts whose blood is carried [as sacrifices for sin] into the [holy of] holies by the high priest, of these the bodies are burned outside the camp.
  • Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
  • Wherefore also Jesus, that he might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate:
  • So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
  • therefore let us go forth to him without the camp, bearing his reproach:
  • For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.
  • for we have not here an abiding city, but we seek the coming one.

  • God-pleasing Sacrifices

Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.
  • Sacrifices and Prayer

By him therefore let us offer [the] sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, [the] fruit of [the] lips confessing his name.
  • And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
  • But of doing good and communicating [of your substance] be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
  • Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
  • Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this [would be] unprofitable for you.
  • Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a good conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in all things.
  • Pray for us: for we persuade ourselves that we have a good conscience, in all things desirous to walk rightly.
  • And I urge you all the more to do this, so that I may be restored to you the sooner.
  • But I much more beseech [you] to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you.

  • Benediction

Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,
  • Benediction and Final Greetings

But the God of peace, who brought again from among [the] dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, in [the power of the] blood of [the] eternal covenant,
  • equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • perfect you in every good work to the doing of his will, doing in you what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for the ages of ages. Amen.
  • But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
  • But I beseech you, brethren, bear the word of exhortation, for it is but in few words that I have written to you.
  • Take notice that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom, if he comes soon, I will see you.
  • Know that our brother Timotheus is set at liberty; with whom, if he should come soon, I will see you.
  • Greet all of your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
  • Salute all your leaders, and all the saints. They from Italy salute you.
  • Grace be with you all.
  • Grace [be] with you all. Amen.
