The Fifth Trumpet — the Bottomless Pit
Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him.

І засурмив п'ятий ангол, — і я бачив зо́рю, що спала із неба додолу. І їй да́ний був ключ від криниці безо́дньої.
He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.
І вона відімкнула криницю безо́дню, — і дим повалив із криниці, мов дим із великої пе́чі. І затьми́лося сонце й повітря від криничного диму.
Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
А з диму на землю вийшла сарана́, і да́но їй міць, як мають міць скорпіо́ни земні.
They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
І наказано їй, щоб вона не шкодила земній траві́, ані жа́дному зі́ллю, ані жа́дному дереву, але тільки тим людям, які на чо́лах не мають печатки Божої.
And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man.
І було да́но їй, щоб їх не вбивати, але мучити п'ять місяців; а му́ка від неї, як му́ка від скорпіо́на, коли вкусить люди́ну.
And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
І в ті дні люди смерти шукатимуть, — та не зна́йдуть її! Померти вони захотять, — та втече від них смерть!
The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
А вигляд сарани́ був подібний до ко́ней, на війну приготованих; а на головах у неї — немов би вінки́, подібні на золото, а обличчя її — немов лю́дські обличчя.
They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.
І мала волосся — як волосся жіноче, а її зуби були́ — немов ле́в'ячі.
They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.
І мала вона па́нцери, немов панцери залізні; а шум її крил — немов шум колесни́ць, коли ко́ней багато біжить на війну́.
They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.
І мала хвости, подібні до скорпіонових, та жа́ла, а в неї в хвостах її вла́да — п'ять місяців шкодити лю́дям.
They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.
І мала вона над собою царя, ангола безодні; йому по-єврейському ім'я Аваддо́н, а по-грецькому звався він Аполліо́н!
The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things.
Одне горе минуло! Ось за ним ще два горя надходять!
The Sixth Trumpet — Army from the East
Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
I засурми́в шостий Ангол, — і я почув один голос із чотирьох ро́гів золотого же́ртівника, який перед Богом,
one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”
що казав шостому Анголові, який мав сурму́: „Розв'яжи чотирьох Анголів, що пов'язані при великій річці Ефра́ті“.
And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.
I були порозв'я́зувані чотири Анголи́, пригото́вані на годину, і на день, і на місяць, і на рік, щоб убили третину людей.
The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.
А число кі́нного ві́йська — двадцять тисяч раз по десять тисяч; і я чув їхнє число.
And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone.
І так бачив я ко́ней в виді́нні, а на них верхівці́в, що па́нцери мали огняні́, і гіяци́нтові, і сірчані́. А го́лови в ко́ней — немов голови ле́в'ячі, а з їхнього рота виходив огонь, і дим, і сірка.
A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.
І побита була́ третина людей від цих трьох пора́зок, — від огню́, і від диму, і від сірки, що вихо́дили з їхніх роті́в.
For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.
Сила бо ко́ней була в їхнім роті та в їхніх хвоста́х. А хвости́ їхні подібні до вужі́в, що мають го́лови, і ними вони шкоду чинять.
The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;
А решта людей, що не вбита була́ цими пора́зками, не пока́ялася за діла своїх рук, щоб не кланятись де́монам, ані і́долам золотим, і срібним, і мідяним, і кам'яни́м, і дерев'яним, що не можуть вони ані бачити, ані чути, ані ходити.
