He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, following the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites.
І робив він лихе́ в Господніх оча́х, за поганською гидо́тою тих наро́дів, яких вигнав Господь з-перед Ізраїлевих синів.
He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had demolished; he also erected altars to the Baals and made Asherah poles. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.
І він зно́ву побудував па́гірки, які порозбивав був його батько Єзекія, і понаставля́в же́ртівники для Ваалів, і поробив Аста́рти, і вклонявся всім небе́сним си́лам, і служив їм.
He built altars in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “My Name will remain in Jerusalem forever.”
І побудував він же́ртівники в Господньому домі, про якого сказав був Господь: „В Єрусалимі буде Ім'я́ Моє навіки!“
In both courts of the temple of the Lord, he built altars to all the starry hosts.
І побудував він же́ртівники для всіх небесних сил на обох подві́р'ях Господнього дому.
He sacrificed his children in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced divination and witchcraft, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.
І він перепроваджував своїх синів через огонь у долині Гінномового сина, і гадав, і ворожив, і чарував, і настановля́в викликувачів ду́хів померлих і ду́хів віщих, і багато робив зла в оча́х Господа, щоб гніви́ти Його.
He took the image he had made and put it in God’s temple, of which God had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever.
І поставив він рі́заного бовва́на, якого зробив, у Божому домі, про якого Бог сказав був до Давида та до сина його Соломона: „У цьому домі та в Єрусалимі, що його Я вибрав зо всіх міст Ізраїлевих племен, покладу Я Ім'я́ Своє навіки!
I will not again make the feet of the Israelites leave the land I assigned to your ancestors, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them concerning all the laws, decrees and regulations given through Moses.”
І більше не виступить Ізраїлева нога з тієї землі, яку Я дав вашим батька́м, якщо тільки вони бу́дуть пильнувати робити все так, як наказав Я їм, увесь Зако́н, і устави, і постанови, дані через Мойсея“.
But Manasseh led Judah and the people of Jerusalem astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.
Та Манасі́я робив блудли́вими Юдею та ме́шканців Єрусалиму, щоб робити гірше від тих народів, яких Господь вигубив з-перед Ізраїлевих синів.
The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they paid no attention.
І говорив Господь до Манасії та до народу його, та не слухались вони.
So the Lord brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.
І Господь навів на них зверхників війська асирійського царя, а вони схопи́ли Манасію на по́від, і скували його мідяни́ми кайда́нами та й повели́ його до Вавило́ну.
In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors.
А як був він ути́скуваний, благав він лице Господа, Бога свого, і дуже впокори́вся перед лицем Бога своїх батьків.
And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
І молився він до Нього, і Він був убла́ганий, і вислухав блага́ння його, і вернув його до Єрусалиму, до царства його. І пізнав Манасія, що Господь — Він Бог!
Afterward he rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David, west of the Gihon spring in the valley, as far as the entrance of the Fish Gate and encircling the hill of Ophel; he also made it much higher. He stationed military commanders in all the fortified cities in Judah.
По цьому збудував він зо́внішній мур для Давидового Міста на за́хід від Ґіхону, в долині, до входу в Рибну браму, й оточив Офела й дуже ви́соко підняв його. І понаставля́в він військо́вих зверхників по всіх укрі́плених містах Юдеї.
He got rid of the foreign gods and removed the image from the temple of the Lord, as well as all the altars he had built on the temple hill and in Jerusalem; and he threw them out of the city.
І повикида́в він чужих богі́в та подобу бовва́на з Господнього дому, і всі же́ртівники, що він побудував був на горі Господнього дому та в Єрусалимі, і викинув те поза місто.
Then he restored the altar of the Lord and sacrificed fellowship offerings and thank offerings on it, and told Judah to serve the Lord, the God of Israel.
І збудував він Господнього же́ртівника, і приніс на ньому жертви приносів мирних та вдячних, і звелів юдеям служити Господе́ві, Богові Ізраїлевому.
The people, however, continued to sacrifice at the high places, but only to the Lord their God.
Але народ прино́сив жертви ще на па́гірках, тільки вже Господеві, Богові своєму.
А решта діл Манасії, і його молитва до Бога його, і слова прозорли́вців, що говорили до нього Ім'ям Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого, — ото вони описані в історії Ізраїлевих царів.
А молитва його, і як Він був убла́ганий, і ввесь його гріх та його спроневі́рення, і місця́, що побудував на них па́гірки й поставив Аста́рти та бовва́ни перед своїм упоко́ренням, — ось вони описані в словах його прозорли́вців.
Manasseh rested with his ancestors and was buried in his palace. And Amon his son succeeded him as king.
І спочив Манасія з батька́ми своїми, і поховали його в домі його, а замість нього зацарював син його Амо́н.

He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done. Amon worshiped and offered sacrifices to all the idols Manasseh had made.
І робив він зло в Господніх оча́х, як робив його батько Манасі́я. А всім бовва́нам, яких наробив його ба́тько Манасія, Амо́н прино́сив жертви та служив їм.
But unlike his father Manasseh, he did not humble himself before the Lord; Amon increased his guilt.
І не впокори́вся він перед Господнім лице́м, як упокори́вся був його батько Манасія, і він, Амон, побільши́в провину.
Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated him in his palace.
І змо́вилися раби його на нього, і забили його в його домі.
