When evening shadows fell on the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I ordered the doors to be shut and not opened until the Sabbath was over. I stationed some of my own men at the gates so that no load could be brought in on the Sabbath day.

And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.

So it was, at the gates of Jerusalem, as it began to be dark before the Sabbath, that I commanded the gates to be shut, and charged that they must not be opened till after the Sabbath. Then I posted some of my servants at the gates, so that no burdens would be brought in on the Sabbath day.

І бувало, як падала вечерова тінь на єрусалимські брами перед суботою, то я наказував, — і були зами́кувані брами. І звелів я, щоб не відчиняли їх, а тільки аж по суботі. А біля брам я поставив слуг своїх, — щоб тяга́р не входив суботнього дня!

Когда перед субботой у ворот Иерусалима начали опускаться сумерки, я приказал запереть двери и не открывать их, пока не пройдет суббота. Я поставил у ворот несколько человек из своих слуг, чтобы в субботу нельзя было внести никакого груза.

І сталося, коли поставили брами в Єрусалимі, то перед суботою я наказав, і замкнули брами. І я сказав, щоб не відкривати їх, хіба аж після закінчення суботи. І я поставив деяких з моїх слуг над брамами, щоб не проносили товарів у суботній день.

И вот что я сделал. Я приказал привратникам каждую пятницу вечером, когда смеркалось, закрывать и запирать ворота в Иерусалим. И они не должны были открываться, пока не закончится суббота.
