  • Psalm 108a

    A song. A psalm of David.

    My heart, O God, is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music with all my soul.
  • A song. A psalm of David.

    My heart is confident in you, O God;
    no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!
  • Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.
  • Wake up, lyre and harp!
    I will wake the dawn with my song.
  • I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
  • I will thank you, LORD, among all the people.
    I will sing your praises among the nations.
  • For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
  • For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens.
    Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
  • Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.
  • Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.
    May your glory shine over all the earth.
  • Save us and help us with your right hand,
    that those you love may be delivered.
  • Now rescue your beloved people.
    Answer and save us by your power.
  • God has spoken from his sanctuary:
    “In triumph I will parcel out Shechem
    and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.
  • God has promised this by his holinessa:
    “I will divide up Shechem with joy.
    I will measure out the valley of Succoth.
  • Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine;
    Ephraim is my helmet,
    Judah is my scepter.
  • Gilead is mine,
    and Manasseh, too.
    Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors,
    and Judah, my scepter, will produce my kings.
  • Moab is my washbasin,
    on Edom I toss my sandal;
    over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
  • But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant,
    and I will wipe my feet on Edom
    and shout in triumph over Philistia.”
  • Who will bring me to the fortified city?
    Who will lead me to Edom?
  • Who will bring me into the fortified city?
    Who will bring me victory over Edom?
  • Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us
    and no longer go out with our armies?
  • Have you rejected us, O God?
    Will you no longer march with our armies?
  • Give us aid against the enemy,
    for human help is worthless.
  • Oh, please help us against our enemies,
    for all human help is useless.
  • With God we will gain the victory,
    and he will trample down our enemies.
  • With God’s help we will do mighty things,
    for he will trample down our foes.
