New Living Translation

  • Psalm 149

    Praise the Lord.a
    Sing to the Lord a new song,
    his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.
  • Praise the LORD!
    Sing to the LORD a new song.
    Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.
  • Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
    let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
  • O Israel, rejoice in your Maker.
    O people of Jerusalem,a exult in your King.
  • Let them praise his name with dancing
    and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
  • Praise his name with dancing,
    accompanied by tambourine and harp.
  • For the Lord takes delight in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.
  • For the LORD delights in his people;
    he crowns the humble with victory.
  • Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor
    and sing for joy on their beds.
  • Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them.
    Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.
  • May the praise of God be in their mouths
    and a double-edged sword in their hands,
  • Let the praises of God be in their mouths,
    and a sharp sword in their hands —
  • to inflict vengeance on the nations
    and punishment on the peoples,
  • to execute vengeance on the nations
    and punishment on the peoples,
  • to bind their kings with fetters,
    their nobles with shackles of iron,
  • to bind their kings with shackles
    and their leaders with iron chains,
  • to carry out the sentence written against them —
    this is the glory of all his faithful people.
    Praise the Lord.
  • to execute the judgment written against them.
    This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones.
    Praise the LORD!
