  • Psalm 7a

    A shiggaionb of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning Cush, a Benjamite.

    Lord my God, I take refuge in you;
    save and deliver me from all who pursue me,
  • O LORD my God, in You I have taken refuge;
    Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
  • or they will tear me apart like a lion
    and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.
  • Or he will tear my soul like a lion,
    Dragging me away, while there is none to deliver.
  • Lord my God, if I have done this
    and there is guilt on my hands —
  • O LORD my God, if I have done this,
    If there is injustice in my hands,
  • if I have repaid my ally with evil
    or without cause have robbed my foe —
  • If I have rewarded evil to my friend,
    Or have plundered him who without cause was my adversary,
  • then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;
    let him trample my life to the ground
    and make me sleep in the dust.c
  • Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it;
    And let him trample my life down to the ground
    And lay my glory in the dust.
    Selah.
    Arise, O LORD, in Your anger;
    Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries,
    And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.
    Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You,
    And over them return on high.
    The LORD judges the peoples;
    Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.
    O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;
    For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
    My shield is with God,
    Who saves the upright in heart.
    God is a righteous judge,
    And a God who has indignation every day.
    If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;
    He has bent His bow and made it ready.
    He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons;
    He makes His arrows fiery shafts.
    Behold, he travails with wickedness,
    And he conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood.
    He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,
    And has fallen into the hole which he made.
    His mischief will return upon his own head,
    And his violence will descend upon his own pate.
    I will give thanks to the LORD according to His righteousness
    And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
  • Arise, Lord, in your anger;
    rise up against the rage of my enemies.
    Awake, my God; decree justice.
  • Arise, O LORD, in Your anger;
    Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries,
    And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.
  • Let the assembled peoples gather around you,
    while you sit enthroned over them on high.
  • Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You,
    And over them return on high.
  • Let the Lord judge the peoples.
    Vindicate me, Lord, according to my righteousness,
    according to my integrity, O Most High.
  • The LORD judges the peoples;
    Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.
  • Bring to an end the violence of the wicked
    and make the righteous secure —
    you, the righteous God
    who probes minds and hearts.
  • O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;
    For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.
  • My shieldd is God Most High,
    who saves the upright in heart.
  • My shield is with God,
    Who saves the upright in heart.
  • God is a righteous judge,
    a God who displays his wrath every day.
  • God is a righteous judge,
    And a God who has indignation every day.
  • If he does not relent,
    hee will sharpen his sword;
    he will bend and string his bow.
  • If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;
    He has bent His bow and made it ready.
  • He has prepared his deadly weapons;
    he makes ready his flaming arrows.
  • He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons;
    He makes His arrows fiery shafts.
  • Whoever is pregnant with evil
    conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment.
  • Behold, he travails with wickedness,
    And he conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood.
  • Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out
    falls into the pit they have made.
  • He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,
    And has fallen into the hole which he made.
  • The trouble they cause recoils on them;
    their violence comes down on their own heads.
  • His mischief will return upon his own head,
    And his violence will descend upon his own pate.
  • I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;
    I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
  • I will give thanks to the LORD according to His righteousness
    And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
