  • Psalm 72
    Of Solomon.

    Endow the king with your justice, O God,
    the royal son with your righteousness.
  • Give the king Your judgments, O God,
    And Your righteousness to the king’s son.
  • May he judge your people in righteousness,
    your afflicted ones with justice.
  • May he judge Your people with righteousness
    And Your afflicted with justice.
  • May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,
    the hills the fruit of righteousness.

    And the hills, in righteousness.
  • May he defend the afflicted among the people
    and save the children of the needy;
    may he crush the oppressor.
  • May he vindicate the afflicted of the people,
    Save the children of the needy
    And crush the oppressor.
  • May he endurea as long as the sun,
    as long as the moon, through all generations.
  • Let them fear You while the sun endures,
    And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.
  • May he be like rain falling on a mown field,
    like showers watering the earth.
  • May he come down like rain upon the mown grass,
    Like showers that water the earth.
  • In his days may the righteous flourish
    and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.
  • In his days may the righteous flourish,
    And abundance of peace till the moon is no more.
  • May he rule from sea to sea
    and from the Riverb to the ends of the earth.
  • May he also rule from sea to sea
    And from the River to the ends of the earth.
  • May the desert tribes bow before him
    and his enemies lick the dust.
  • Let the nomads of the desert bow before him,
    And his enemies lick the dust.
  • May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores
    bring tribute to him.
    May the kings of Sheba and Seba
    present him gifts.
  • Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands bring presents;
    The kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
  • May all kings bow down to him
    and all nations serve him.
  • And let all kings bow down before him,
    All nations serve him.
  • For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
    the afflicted who have no one to help.
  • For he will deliver the needy when he cries for help,
    The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.
  • He will take pity on the weak and the needy
    and save the needy from death.
  • He will have compassion on the poor and needy,
    And the lives of the needy he will save.
  • He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
    for precious is their blood in his sight.
  • He will rescue their life from oppression and violence,
    And their blood will be precious in his sight;
  • Long may he live!
    May gold from Sheba be given him.
    May people ever pray for him
    and bless him all day long.
  • So may he live, and may the gold of Sheba be given to him;
    And let them pray for him continually;
    Let them bless him all day long.

    and thrivec like the grass of the field.
  • May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains;
    Its fruit will wave like the cedars of Lebanon;
    And may those from the city flourish like vegetation of the earth.

    may it continue as long as the sun.
    Then all nations will be blessed through him,d
