    How lovely is your dwelling place,
    Lord Almighty!
  • The Blessedness of Dwelling in the House of God

    To the Chief Musician. On[a] an instrument of Gath. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

    How lovely [b]is Your tabernacle,
    O Lord of hosts!
  • My soul yearns, even faints,
    for the courts of the Lord;
    my heart and my flesh cry out
    for the living God.
  • My soul longs, yes, even faints
    For the courts of the Lord;
    My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
  • Even the sparrow has found a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may have her young —
    a place near your altar,
    Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
  • Even the sparrow has found a home,
    And the swallow a nest for herself,
    Where she may lay her young —
    Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,
    My King and my God.
  • Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
    they are ever praising you.c
  • Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
    They will still be praising You. Selah
  • Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
  • Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
    Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
  • As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
    they make it a place of springs;
    the autumn rains also cover it with pools.d
  • As they pass through the Valley of [c]Baca,
    They make it a spring;
    The rain also covers it with [d]pools.
  • They go from strength to strength,
    till each appears before God in Zion.
  • They go from strength to strength;
    [e]Each one appears before God in Zion.
  • Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
    listen to me, God of Jacob.
  • O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
    Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
  • Look on our shield,e O God;
    look with favor on your anointed one.
  • O God, behold our shield,
    And look upon the face of Your [f]anointed.
  • Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
    I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
  • For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
    I would rather [g]be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
  • For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
    no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.
  • For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    The Lord will give grace and glory;
    No good thing will He withhold
    From those who walk uprightly.
  • Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you.
  • O Lord of hosts,
    Blessed is the man who trusts in You!
