Darby Bible Translation

  • Psalm 92a

    A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.

    It is good to praise the Lord
    and make music to your name, O Most High,
  • How Great Are Your Works

    {A Psalm, a Song, for the Sabbath day.} It is good to give thanks unto Jehovah, and to sing psalms unto thy name, O Most High;
  • proclaiming your love in the morning
    and your faithfulness at night,
  • To declare thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness in the nights,
  • to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
    and the melody of the harp.
  • Upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the lute; upon the Higgaion with the harp.
  • For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
  • For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
  • How great are your works, Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!
  • Jehovah, how great are thy works! Thy thoughts are very deep:
  • Senseless people do not know,
    fools do not understand,
  • A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand it.
  • that though the wicked spring up like grass
    and all evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.
  • When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed for ever.
  • But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
  • And thou, Jehovah, art on high for evermore.
  • For surely your enemies, Lord,
    surely your enemies will perish;
    all evildoers will be scattered.
  • For lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, for lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
  • You have exalted my hornb like that of a wild ox;
    fine oils have been poured on me.
  • But my horn shalt thou exalt like a buffalo's: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
  • My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
    my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
  • And mine eye shall see [its desire] on mine enemies; mine ears shall hear [it] of the evil-doers that rise up against me.
  • The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
    they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
  • The righteous shall shoot forth like a palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar on Lebanon.
  • planted in the house of the Lord,
    they will flourish in the courts of our God.
  • Those that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God:
  • They will still bear fruit in old age,
    they will stay fresh and green,
  • They are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green;
  • proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
    he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
  • To shew that Jehovah is upright: [he is] my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
