New King James Version

  • Praise to the Lord

    Lord, you are my God;
    I will exalt you and praise your name,
    for in perfect faithfulness
    you have done wonderful things,
    things planned long ago.
  • Praise to God

    O Lord, You are my God.
    I will exalt You,
    I will praise Your name,
    For You have done wonderful things;
    Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
  • You have made the city a heap of rubble,
    the fortified town a ruin,
    the foreigners’ stronghold a city no more;
    it will never be rebuilt.
  • For You have made a city a ruin,
    A fortified city a ruin,
    A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;
    It will never be rebuilt.
  • Therefore strong peoples will honor you;
    cities of ruthless nations will revere you.
  • Therefore the strong people will glorify You;
    The city of the [a]terrible nations will fear You.
  • You have been a refuge for the poor,
    a refuge for the needy in their distress,
    a shelter from the storm
    and a shade from the heat.
    For the breath of the ruthless
    is like a storm driving against a wall
  • For You have been a strength to the poor,
    A strength to the needy in his distress,
    A refuge from the storm,
    A shade from the heat;
    For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
  • and like the heat of the desert.
    You silence the uproar of foreigners;
    as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
    so the song of the ruthless is stilled.
  • You will reduce the noise of aliens,
    As heat in a dry place;
    As heat in the shadow of a cloud,
    The song of the terrible ones will be [b]diminished.
  • On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast of rich food for all peoples,
    a banquet of aged wine —
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.
  • And in this mountain
    The Lord of hosts will make for all people
    A feast of [c]choice pieces,
    A feast of [d]wines on the lees,
    Of fat things full of marrow,
    Of well-refined wines on the lees.
  • On this mountain he will destroy
    the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
    the sheet that covers all nations;
  • And He will destroy on this mountain
    The surface of the covering cast over all people,
    And the veil that is spread over all nations.
  • he will swallow up death forever.
    The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
    from all faces;
    he will remove his people’s disgrace
    from all the earth.
    The Lord has spoken.
  • He will swallow up death forever,
    And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;
    The rebuke of His people
    He will take away from all the earth;
    For the Lord has spoken.
  • In that day they will say,
    “Surely this is our God;
    we trusted in him, and he saved us.
    This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
    let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”
  • And it will be said in that day:
    “Behold, this is our God;
    We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
    This is the Lord;
    We have waited for Him;
    We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
  • The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain;
    but Moab will be trampled in their land
    as straw is trampled down in the manure.
  • For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,
    And Moab shall be trampled down under Him,
    As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.
  • They will stretch out their hands in it,
    as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim.
    God will bring down their pride
    despite the clevernessa of their hands.
  • And He will spread out His hands in their midst
    As a swimmer reaches out to swim,
    And He will bring down their pride
    Together with the trickery of their hands.
  • He will bring down your high fortified walls
    and lay them low;
    he will bring them down to the ground,
    to the very dust.
  • The fortress of the high fort of your walls
    He will bring down, lay low,
    And bring to the ground, down to the dust.
