Israel’s Only Savior

But now, this is what the Lord says —
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

І тепер так говорить Господь Бог, Який тебе створив, Якове, Який тебе сформував, Ізраїлю: Не бійся, бо Я тебе викупив! Я дав тобі твоє ім’я, ти Мій!

When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

І якщо переходитимеш через воду, — Я буду з тобою, і ріки тебе не затоплять. І якщо переходитимеш через вогонь, — не будеш опалений, полум’я тебе не попече.

3

For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cusha and Seba in your stead.

Адже Я — Господь, твій Бог, Святий Ізраїля, Котрий спасає тебе. Я зробив твоїм викупом Єгипет, Ефіопію і Соін — замість тебе.

Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.

Відколи ти став цінним переді Мною, ти прославився, і Я тебе полюбив. І дам багато людей за тебе і володарів за твою голову.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

Не бійся, бо Я з тобою! Від сходу приведу твоїх нащадків і зберу тебе із заходу.

I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth —

Скажу півночі: Веди! — і півдню: Не забороняй! Приведи Моїх синів із землі здалека і моїх дочок від кінців землі, —

everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.”

усіх, хто названий Моїм Іменем! Адже в Моїй славі Я його приготовив і створив, і його вчинив.

Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,
who have ears but are deaf.

Я вивів сліпий народ: і очі має, та немов сліпі, і ті, хто має вуха, — глухі.

All the nations gather together
and the peoples assemble.
Which of their gods foretold this
and proclaimed to us the former things?
Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,
so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”

Усі народи зібралися разом, і зберуться з них володарі. Хто це сповістить? Чи те, що від початку, хто вам сповістить? Хай приведуть їхніх свідків і хай оправдаються, і хай праведно скажуть.

“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.

Ви стали Мені свідками, і Я свідок, — говорить Господь Бог, — і раб, якого Я вибрав, щоб ви дізналися, і повірили, і зрозуміли, що Я є!
Переді Мною не було іншого бога, і після Мене не буде.

I, even I, am the Lord,
and apart from me there is no savior.

Я — Бог, і немає крім Мене того, Хто спасає!

12

I have revealed and saved and proclaimed —
I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God.

Я сповістив, спас і докорив — і не було у вас чужого бога. Ви Мені свідки, і Я свідок, — говорить Господь Бог.

13

Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?”

Ще від початку, і немає того, хто спасає з Моїх рук. Я зроблю, і хто це відверне?

God’s Mercy and Israel’s Unfaithfulness

This is what the Lord says —
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“For your sake I will send to Babylon
and bring down as fugitives all the Babylonians,b
in the ships in which they took pride.

Так говорить Господь Бог, Котрий рятує вас, Святий Ізраїля: Задля вас Я пошлю до Вавилону і підніму всіх, хто втікає, і халдеї на кораблях будуть заковані в кайдани.

15

I am the Lord, your Holy One,
Israel’s Creator, your King.”

15

Я — Господь, ваш Бог, Святий, Хто об’явив Ізраїлеві вашого царя.

16

This is what the Lord says —
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,

Так говорить Господь, Який дав дорогу в морі та стежку в могутній воді,

17

who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

Хто одночасно вивів колісниці, коня і сильний народ: вони заснули і не встануть, згасли, як погашений льон.

“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

Не згадуйте попереднє і не думайте про давнє!

19

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

Ось Я зроблю нове, те, що тепер сходить, і пізнаєте це. І зроблю в пустелі дорогу і ріки в безводній землі.

20

The wild animals honor me,
the jackals and the owls,
because I provide water in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,

Мене поблагословлять дикі звірі, сирени і пташенята горобців, бо я дав воду в пустелі та ріки в безводній землі, щоб напоїти Мій вибраний рід,

the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise.

“Yet you have not called on me, Jacob,
you have not wearied yourselves forc me, Israel.

22

Тепер Я тебе не покликав, Якове, і не завдав тобі труду, Ізраїлю.

23

You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings,
nor honored me with your sacrifices.
I have not burdened you with grain offerings
nor wearied you with demands for incense.

23

Не для Мене вівці твого всепалення, ні ти Мене не прославив у твоїх жертвах, ні не перевтомив Я тебе ладаном,

24

You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me,
or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices.
But you have burdened me with your sins
and wearied me with your offenses.

24

ні не придбав ти Мені за срібло ладан, ні Я не забажав м’яса твоїх жертв, але у твоїх гріхах і у твоїх неправедностях постав ти!

25

“I, even I, am he who blots out
your transgressions, for my own sake,
and remembers your sins no more.

25

Я є, Я є Той, Хто стирає твоє беззаконня — і не згадаю.

26

Review the past for me,
let us argue the matter together;
state the case for your innocence.

Ти ж згадай, і судитимемося. Говори ти спершу про свої беззаконня, щоб ти оправдався.

27

Your first father sinned;
those I sent to teach you rebelled against me.

Ваші батьки та їхні володарі першими чинили беззаконня проти Мене,

28

So I disgraced the dignitaries of your temple;
I consigned Jacob to destructiond
and Israel to scorn.

і володарі опоганили Мої святині, і Я дав вигубити Якова, — Ізраїля дав на зневагу.
