І сталося за днів Аха́за, сина Йота́ма, Уззіїного сина, царя Юди, вийшов Реці́н, цар сирійський, і Пе́ках, син Ремаліїн, цар Ізраїлів, до Єрусалиму на війну́ на нього, та не міг звоюва́ти його.
І спові́щено Давидів дім, і сказано: „Став табо́ром Ара́м у землі Єфремовій“. І захиталося серце його й серце наро́ду його, як хитаються лісові́ дере́ва від вітру!
І сказав Господь до Ісаї: „Вийди навпроти Ахаза, ти та твій син Шеар-Яшув, до кінця водово́ду горі́шнього ставу, на биту дорогу По́ля-Валю́шників.
Say to him, ‘Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood — because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah.
І скажеш до нього: Стережися й будь спокійний, не бійся, а серце твоє нехай не мякне через два за́лишки тих димля́чих голове́шок, від по́лум'я гніву Реціна й Арама та сина Ремаліїного,
Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah’s son have plotted your ruin, saying,
за те, що Арам, Єфрем та син Ремаліїн радили проти тебе лихе, говорячи:
“Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeel king over it.”
Ходім на Юдею та її налякаємо, і здобу́демо для себе, і настано́вимо царем серед нього Тавеїлового сина.
Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“ ‘It will not take place,
it will not happen,
“ ‘It will not take place,
it will not happen,

for the head of Aram is Damascus,
and the head of Damascus is only Rezin.
Within sixty-five years
Ephraim will be too shattered to be a people.

Бо голова Ара́му — Дама́ск, а голова Дамаску — Рецін, та ще шістдеся́т і п'ять літ, — і буде зла́маний Єфрем, так що перестане бути наро́дом!
The head of Ephraim is Samaria,
and the head of Samaria is only Remaliah’s son.
If you do not stand firm in your faith,
you will not stand at all.’ ”

А голова Єфрему — Самарі́я, а голова Самарії — син Ремаліїн. Якщо ви не повірите, то не встоїте́“.
“Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.”
„Зажадай собі знака від Господа, Бога твого, і зійди гли́боко до шео́лу, або зійди ви́соко догори́!“
But Ahaz said, “I will not ask; I will not put the Lord to the test.”
А Ахаз відказав: „Не пожадаю я, і не буду споку́шувати Господа“.
Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also?
І він сказав: „Послухайте, доме Давидів, — чи мало вам труди́ти людей, що тру́дите також Бога мого?
Тому Господь Сам дасть вам знака: Ось Діва в утро́бі зачне́, і Сина поро́дить, і назве́ш ім'я́ Йому: Еммануї́л.
He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right,
Масло та мед буде Він спожива́ти, аж поки не пізна́є того, як зло відкидати та добро́ вибирати.
for before the boy knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.

The Lord will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away from Judah — he will bring the king of Assyria.”
Спровадить Госпо́дь на тебе, і на наро́д твій, і на дім ба́тька твого дні, які не прихо́дили від дня відсту́плення Єфрема від Юди, — спровадить царя асирійського.
Assyria, the Lord’s Instrument
In that day the Lord will whistle for flies from the Nile delta in Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria.

І станеться в день той, прива́бить Госпо́дь муху, що в кінці рік Єгипту, та бджолу́, що в ассирійському кра́ї,
They will all come and settle in the steep ravines and in the crevices in the rocks, on all the thornbushes and at all the water holes.
і вони прилетя́ть, та уся́дуться всі по прова́ллях стрімки́х та по щі́линах ске́льних, і в усіх тернови́ннях, та на лу́ках усіх.
In that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates River — the king of Assyria — to shave your heads and private parts, and to cut off your beards also.
Дня то́го ого́лить Господь немов бритвою, на́йнятою по тім боці ріки́, — царем асирійським, го́лову та воло́сся ніг, забере також бо́роду.
In that day, a person will keep alive a young cow and two goats.
І бу́де дня то́го, що хто прогоду́є корівку та дві штуки худо́би дрібно́ї,
And because of the abundance of the milk they give, there will be curds to eat. All who remain in the land will eat curds and honey.
то ста́неться, що від многоти́ молока, що надо́їть, спожива́тиме масло, бо масло та мед буде їсти всякий, хто зоста́неться серед землі.
І бу́де дня то́го: кожне місце, що в нім буде тисяча лоз винограду на тисячу срі́бла, стане терни́ною та будяко́м!
Hunters will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers and thorns.
Зо стрі́лами й з луком він бу́де ходи́ти туди́, бо стане терни́ною та будяко́м уся земля.
As for all the hills once cultivated by the hoe, you will no longer go there for fear of the briers and thorns; they will become places where cattle are turned loose and where sheep run.
А на всі го́ри, що за́ступом копано їх, ти не зі́йдеш туди, бо будеш боятись терни́ни й будя́ччя, — і стануться місцем вони, куди волів посила́тимуть, і топта́тимуть ві́вці його́.
