“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God.
„Промовляй до Ізраїлевих синів, і скажеш їм: Я — Госпо́дь, Бог ваш!
You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.
За чином єгипетського кра́ю, що сиділи ви в нім, не робіть, і за чином Кра́ю ханаанського, що Я впроваджую вас туди, не зробите, і звичаями їхніми не пі́дете.
You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God.
Ви вико́нуватимете уста́ви Мої, і будете додержувати постанови Мої, щоб ними ходити. Я — Господь, Бог ваш!
Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.
І будете додержувати постанов Моїх та уста́вів Моїх, що люди́на їх вико́нує й ними живе. Я — Госпо́дь!
“ ‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord.
Жоден чоловік не набли́зиться до жодної однокровної своєї, щоб відкрити наготу́. Я — Господь!
“ ‘Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her.
Наготи́ батька свого й наготи́ матері своєї не відкриєш, — вона мати твоя, не відкриєш наготи́ її!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s wife; that would dishonor your father.
Наготи́ жінки батька твого не відкриєш, вона нагота батька твого!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.
Наготи́ сестри своєї, дочки батька свого або дочки́ матері своєї, що народи́лися в домі або народилися назо́вні, — не відкриєш їхньої наготи!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you.
Наготу́ дочки сина свого або дочки́ дочки своєї, — не відкриєш наготи́ їхньої, бо вони — нагота твоя!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.
Наготи́ дочки жінки батька свого, наро́дженої від батька твого, — вона сестра твоя, не відкриєш наготи її!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.
Наготи́ сестри батька свого не відкриєш, — вона однокровна ба́тька твого!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative.
Наготи́ сестри матері своєї не відкриєш, бо вона однокровна матері твоєї.
“ ‘Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt.
Наготи брата ба́тька свого не відкриєш, до жінки його не набли́зишся, — вона тітка твоя!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do not have relations with her.
Наготи́ невістки своєї не відкриєш, — вона жінка сина твого, не відкриєш наготи її!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother.
Наготи жінки брата свого не відкриєш, — вона нагота брата твого!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.
Наготи жінки й дочки́ її не відкриєш; дочки сина її й дочки дочки її не ві́зьмеш, щоб відкрити її наготу, — вони однокровні її, це кровозмі́шання!
“ ‘Do not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.
І жінки з сестрою її не візьмеш на супе́рництво, щоб відкрити наготу її при ній за життя її.
“ ‘Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period.
А до жінки в час відді́лення нечистости її не набли́зишся, щоб відкрити наготу її.
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her.
А з жінкою свого ближнього не будеш лежати на насіння, щоб нею не стати нечистим.
“ ‘Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.
А з насіння свого не даси на жертву Молохові, — і не знева́жиш Імени Бога свого. Я — Господь!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.
А з чоловіком не будеш лежати як з жінкою, — гидота воно!
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.
І з жодною худобиною не злижешся, щоб не стати нею нечистим. І жінка не стане перед худо́биною на злягання, — це паску́дство!
“ ‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled.
Не занечи́щуйтеся тим усім, бо всім тим занечи́щені ті люди, яких Я виганяю перед вами.
Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
І стала нечиста та земля, і Я полічив на ній її гріх, — і та земля ви́ригнула мешканців своїх!
But you must keep my decrees and my laws. The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things,
І ви будете доде́ржувати постанов Моїх та уста́вів Моїх, і не зробите жодної зо всіх тих гидот, як і тубі́лець чи прихо́дько, що мешкає серед вас.
for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled.
Бо всі ті гидо́ти робили люди тієї землі, які перед вами, — і стала нечиста та земля.
And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
І щоб та земля не ви́ригнула вас через ваше занечищення її, як вона виригнула наро́д, який перед вами.
“ ‘Everyone who does any of these detestable things — such persons must be cut off from their people.
Бо кожен, хто зробить одну зо всіх тих гидот, то ду́ші, що роблять, будуть винищені з-посеред їхнього наро́ду.
Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them. I am the Lord your God.’ ”
І ви будете додержувати нака́зів Моїх, щоб не чинити чого з тих гидотних постано́в, що ро́блені перед вами, — і не спога́нитеся ними. Я — Госпо́дь, Бог ваш!“
