If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death,
Простой народ, может и не обратить внимание на человека, который отдал своих детей Молоху.
I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.
Но Я буду против него и его семьи! Я отделю его от Своего народа! Я отделю всякого, кто неверен Мне и гоняется за Молохом.
“ ‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
Я буду против всякого, кто ходит за советом к людям, вызывающим духов умерших, и к волшебникам. Такой человек неверен Мне, и Я отделю его от своего народа.
“ ‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God.
Будьте святы, ибо Я свят! Я Господь, Бог ваш.
Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
Помните и соблюдайте Мои законы. Я Господь, и Я сделал вас Моим избранным народом.
“ ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.
Если кто станет ругать своего отца или мать, человека того надо предать смерти. Он ругал своего отца или мать, значит он повинен в своей смерти!
“ ‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife — with the wife of his neighbor — both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.
Если кто имеет половые отношения с женой своего соседа и он и эта женщина виновны в прелюбодеянии, они оба должны быть преданы смерти.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Если кто имеет половые отношения с женой своего отца, то оба, и мужчина и женщина, должны быть преданы смерти. Они сами повинны в своей смерти. Это всё равно, что иметь половые отношения со своим отцом!
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
Если кто имеет половые отношения со своей невесткой, то оба они должны быть преданы смерти, ибо совершили тягчайший половой грех! Они сами повинны в своей смерти.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Если человек имеет половые отношения с другим мужчиной, как с женщиной, эти двое мужчин совершили ужасный грех, и их надо предать смерти. Они сами повинны в своей смерти.
“ ‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.
Греховными являются также половые отношения с женщиной и с её матерью. Этого человека и обеих женщин надлежит сжечь в огне! Не допускайте совершения такого греха среди народа своего!
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
Если человек вступит в половые отношения с животным, человек этот должен быть предан смерти, а животное убито.
“ ‘If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Если какая женщина вступит в половые отношения с животным, надлежит убить и женщину эту, и животное. Их надо предать смерти. Они сами повинны в своей смерти.
“ ‘If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.
Если брат и его сестра или сводная сестра вступят друг с другом в половые отношения, это позорно! Их надо публично наказать! Их надо отделить от своего народа! Человек, который имел половые отношения со своей сестрой, должен быть наказан за свой грех.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.
Если человек имеет половые отношения с женщиной во время её месячного кровоочищения, оба они, и мужчина и женщина, должны быть отделены от своего народа. Они согрешили тем, что обнажили течение её крови.
“ ‘Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.
Вы не должны иметь половые отношения ни с сестрой своей матери, ни с сестрой своего отца. Это грех кровосмешения, и вы должны понести наказание за свои грехи.
“ ‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.
Человек не должен иметь половые отношения с женой своего дяди. Это всё равно, что иметь такие отношения со своим дядей. Этот человек и жена его дяди будут наказаны за свои грехи. Они умрут бездетными.
“ ‘If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
Человек не должен брать жену своего брата. Это всё равно, что иметь половые отношения со своим братом, бездетны будут они.
“ ‘Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.
Вы должны помнить и соблюдать все Мои законы и правила. Я веду вас в вашу страну, и вы будете жить в ней. Если вы будете соблюдать Мои законы и правила, эта земля не извергнет вас из себя.
You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
Я заставлю другой народ покинуть эту страну, ибо эти люди совершали все эти грехи! Я вознегодовал на них за это! Не живите так, как жили эти люди!
But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations.
Я сказал вам, что вы будете владеть их землёй, и Я отдам её вам. Она будет вашей. Эта земля полна добра. Я Господь, Бог ваш! Я сделал вас своим особым народом. Я относился к вам не так, как к другим народам.
“ ‘You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground — those that I have set apart as unclean for you.
И вы должны отличать чистый скот от нечистого и чистую птицу от нечистой. Не ешьте никаких нечистых птиц, животных и пресмыкающихся по земле. Я отличил их, как нечистое.
You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
Я сделал вас Своим особым народом, и вы должны быть святы! Ибо Я Господь, и Я свят!
“ ‘A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’ ”
Если мужчина или женщина станут вызывать духи умерших или ворожить, они должны быть преданы смерти. Народ должен убить их камнями. Они должны быть убиты".
