Jerusalem

Woe to the city of oppressors,
rebellious and defiled!

О, славне і викуплене, місто голубко!

2

She obeys no one,
she accepts no correction.
She does not trust in the Lord,
she does not draw near to her God.

Не послухалось голосу, не сприйняло напоумлення, не поклало надії на Господа і не наблизилося до свого Бога.

3

Her officials within her
are roaring lions;
her rulers are evening wolves,
who leave nothing for the morning.

Його володарі в ньому, як леви, що ричать. Його судді, як вовки Аравії, не залишали до ранку.

4

Her prophets are unprincipled;
they are treacherous people.
Her priests profane the sanctuary
and do violence to the law.

Його пророки легкі, зневажливі мужі. Його священики опоганюють святе і є безбожними щодо закону.

The Lord within her is righteous;
he does no wrong.
Morning by morning he dispenses his justice,
and every new day he does not fail,
yet the unrighteous know no shame.

А Господь праведний посеред нього і не зробить неправедне. Вранці, вранці дасть Його суд у світлі і неправедність не на перемогу.

Jerusalem Remains Unrepentant

“I have destroyed nations;
their strongholds are demolished.
I have left their streets deserted,
with no one passing through.
Their cities are laid waste;
they are deserted and empty.

Я скинув гордих зіпсуттям, пропали їхні шпилі. Я спустошив їхні дороги, щоб вони зовсім не проходили. Пропали їхні міста, тому що не було нікого, і вони не жили.

Of Jerusalem I thought,
‘Surely you will fear me
and accept correction!’
Then her place of refugea would not be destroyed,
nor all my punishments come uponb her.
But they were still eager
to act corruptly in all they did.

Я сказав: Лише бійтеся Мене і одержите напоумлення, і не будете винищені з-перед її [1] очей, у всьому, у чому Я на ній помстився. Приготуй, устань вранці, зітліло все їхнє листя.

Therefore wait for me,”
declares the Lord,
“for the day I will stand up to testify.c
I have decided to assemble the nations,
to gather the kingdoms
and to pour out my wrath on them —
all my fierce anger.
The whole world will be consumed
by the fire of my jealous anger.

Через це терпеливо чекай Мене, — говорить Господь, — у день Мого вставання на суд. Тому що Мій суд на збори народів, щоб прийняти царів, аби на них пролити весь гнів Мого обурення. Тому що у вогні Моєї ревності вся земля буде знищена.

Restoration of Israel’s Remnant

“Then I will purify the lips of the peoples,
that all of them may call on the name of the Lord
and serve him shoulder to shoulder.

Адже тоді Я поверну на народи народ на його рід, щоб усі прикликали Ім’я Господа, щоб служили Йому під одним ярмом.

From beyond the rivers of Cushd
my worshipers, my scattered people,
will bring me offerings.

З кінців рік Ефіопії принесуть Мені жертви.

11

On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame
for all the wrongs you have done to me,
because I will remove from you
your arrogant boasters.
Never again will you be haughty
on my holy hill.

У той день не застидаєшся всіх твоїх задумів, якими ти був безбожним проти Мене. Бо тоді Я заберу від тебе зневаги Твоєї гордості, і більше не продовжуватимеш величатися на Моїй святій горі.

12

But I will leave within you
the meek and humble.
The remnant of Israel
will trust in the name of the Lord.

І залишу в тобі лагідний і покірний народ, і шануватимуть Ім’я Господа

13

They will do no wrong;
they will tell no lies.
A deceitful tongue
will not be found in their mouths.
They will eat and lie down
and no one will make them afraid.”

13

ті, що залишилися з Ізраїля, і не чинитимуть неправедності, і не говоритимуть марне, і не знайдеться в їхніх устах обманливий язик, тому що вони пастимуться і поселяться, і не буде нікого, хто лякатиме їх.

14

Sing, Daughter Zion;
shout aloud, Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
Daughter Jerusalem!

Радій, Дочко Сіону! Звіщай, дочко Єрусалима! Радій і веселися від усього твого серця, дочко Єрусалиме!

15

The Lord has taken away your punishment,
he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
never again will you fear any harm.

15

Господь забрав твої неправедності, Він тебе викупив з руки твоїх ворогів. Цар Ізраїля, Господь, посеред тебе, — більше не побачиш зла.

16

On that day
they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
do not let your hands hang limp.

16

У той час Господь скаже Єрусалимові: Кріпися, Сіоне, хай не ослабнуть твої руки!

17

The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

17

Твій Господь Бог посеред тебе, Сильний тебе врятує, наведе на тебе радість і обновить тебе у Своїй любові! І Він зрадіє над тобою у веселості, як у день свята.

18

“I will remove from you
all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals,
which is a burden and reproach for you.

18

І Я зберу розбитих. Горе, хто поклав на неї погорду?

19

At that time I will deal
with all who oppressed you.
I will rescue the lame;
I will gather the exiles.
I will give them praise and honor
in every land where they have suffered shame.

19

Ось Я в тобі зроблю задля тебе, — говорить Господь, — у той час, і спасу пригноблену і відкинену. Я прийму і поставлю їх на похвалу, зроблю славними по всій землі.

20

At that time I will gather you;
at that time I will bring you home.
I will give you honor and praise
among all the peoples of the earth
when I restore your fortunese
before your very eyes,”
says the Lord.

20

І в той час засоромляться, коли Я вам зроблю добро, і в час, коли Я вас прийму. Тому що Я дам вас славними і на похвалу поміж усіма народами землі, коли Я поверну ваш полон перед вами, — говорить Господь.
