they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

І промовляв той народ проти Бога та проти Мойсея: „На́що ви вивели нас із Єгипту, щоб ми повмирали в пустині? Бож нема тут хліба й нема води, а душі нашій обри́дла ця непридатна ї́жа“.

— Зачем вы вывели нас из Египта? Чтобы мы умерли в пустыне? Хлеба нет! Воды нет! А эта убогая пища нам противна! -
І народ почав нарікати на Бога і на Мойсея, кажучи: Навіщо ти вивів нас з Єгипту, щоб ми загинули в пустелі? Адже тут немає ні хліба, ні води, а цей нікчемний хліб набрид нашій душі.
