The Healing at the Pool

Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals.

A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda

Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesdaa and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, [a]Bethesda, having five porches.

Here a great number of disabled people used to lie — the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.

In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, [b]paralyzed, [c]waiting for the moving of the water.
