Obedience Commanded

Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you.

"Итак, Израиль, слушай законы и заповеди, которым я учу тебя. Повинуйся им и будешь жить, и тогда сможешь пойти завладеть землёй, которую даёт тебе Господь, Бог предков твоих.

Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.

Ничего не прибавляй к тому, что я заповедаю тебе, и ничего не убавляй, повинуйся заповедям Господа, Бога твоего, которые я дал тебе.

You saw with your own eyes what the Lord did at Baal Peor. The Lord your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor,

Ты видел, что Господь сделал в Ваал-Фегоре: Господь, Бог твой, истребил всех в твоём народе, кто поклонялся лжебогу Ваалу,

but all of you who held fast to the Lord your God are still alive today.

те же, кто остался верен Господу, Богу вашему, живы и по сей день.

See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it.

Я научил вас законам и постановлениям, заповеданным мне Господом, Богом моим, научил вас этим законам, чтобы вы соблюдали их на земле, на которую собираетесь вступить, чтобы завладеть ею.

Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

Соблюдайте неукоснительно эти законы, и это докажет вашу мудрость и рассудительность другим народам, которые, услышав об этих законах, скажут: "Воистину мудр и рассудителен этот великий народ".

What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him?

"Господь, Бог наш, близок, когда мы молим Его о помощи, и ни у какого другого народа нет бога, подобного Ему!

And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today?

Нет никакого другого такого народа, у которого были бы такие справедливые законы и предписания, как те, которым я учу вас сегодня!

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Но будьте осторожны! Никогда не забывайте о том, что видели, и научите всему этому своих детей и внуков.

Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”

Помните тот день, когда вы стояли перед Господом, Богом вашим, у горы Хорив, и Господь сказал мне: "Собери народ, пусть выслушают, что Я скажу, и тогда они научатся почитать Меня, пока будут жить на земле, и научат всему этому своих детей!"

You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain while it blazed with fire to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness.

Вы приблизились и встали у подножия горы, и вспыхнула гора огнём, дошедшим до небес, и повисли чёрные густые тучи и тьма.

12

Then the Lord spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice.

И обратился к вам из огня Господь, вы слышали голос, но образа не видели, а только голос.

13

He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.

И объявил вам Господь о Своём соглашении, объявил вам десять заповедей и повелел следовать им, и записал законы соглашения на двух каменных скрижалях.

14

And the Lord directed me at that time to teach you the decrees and laws you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

14

И велел мне тогда Господь научить вас другим законам и предписаниям, которым вы должны следовать на той земле, которой завладеете и на которой будете жить.

15

Idolatry Forbidden

You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully,

В тот день, когда Господь из огня говорил с вами на горе Хорив, вы не видели Его, у Бога не было образа.

16

so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,

Берегитесь! Не грешите и не губите себя, делая лжебогов и изваяния по образу живых существ, не делайте идолов, изображающих мужчину или женщину.

17

or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air,

Не делайте идола, изображающего земное животное или птицу, летающую в небесах,

18

or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below.

18

и не делайте идола, похожего на ползающую по земле тварь или на морскую рыбу.

19

And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars — all the heavenly array — do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

19

И будьте осторожны, смотря на небо, солнце, луну и все звёзды в небе! Будьте осторожны, не поддавайтесь искушению поклоняться и служить им, ибо Господь, Бог ваш, оставляет это другим народам;

20

But as for you, the Lord took you and brought you out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are.

20

вас же Господь вывел из Египта и сделал Своим святым народом, словно взял и вывел вас из огня горячей печи, где люди плавят железо. И теперь вы — Его народ!

21

The Lord was angry with me because of you, and he solemnly swore that I would not cross the Jordan and enter the good land the Lord your God is giving you as your inheritance.

Из-за вас Господь разгневался на меня и поклялся, что я не перейду реку Иордан, сказал мне, что я не войду в добрую землю, которую Господь, Бог ваш, отдаёт вам,

22

I will die in this land; I will not cross the Jordan; but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land.

22

и потому я должен умереть здесь, на этой земле, и не перейду Иордан. Вы же вскоре перейдёте через реку, завладеете этой доброй землёй и будете там жить.

23

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden.

23

И в этой новой земле берегитесь, чтобы не забыть соглашение, которое Господь, Бог ваш, заключил с вами. Повинуйтесь повелениям Господним и не делайте себе идолов ни по какому подобию!

24

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

24

Ибо Господь, Бог ваш, не терпит, чтобы Его народ поклонялся другим богам, ибо Господь подобен всеразрушающему огню!

25

After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time — if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God and arousing his anger,

Вы будете жить в стране долгое время, там у вас будут дети и внуки, там вы состаритесь, но потом погубите свою жизнь: сделаете всякого рода идолов и тем вызовете великий гнев Божий!

26

I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you this day that you will quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed.

И поэтому я сейчас предупреждаю вас: пусть будут мне свидетелями небо и земля, что если вы сотворите такое зло, то будете тотчас уничтожены! Сейчас вы переходите Иордан, чтобы захватить эту землю, но если сделаете себе идолов, то недолго там проживёте! Вы будете полностью уничтожены!

The Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive among the nations to which the Lord will drive you.

27

Господь рассеет вас по всем народам, и лишь немногие из вас останутся в живых и отправятся в те страны, куда Господь пошлёт вас,

28

There you will worship man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.

28

и там вы будете служить богам, сделанным человеческими руками из дерева и камня, которые не видят, не слышат, не едят и не обоняют!

29

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

29

Но в этих чужих странах вы будете искать Господа, Бога вашего, и если будете искать Его всем сердцем и всей душой, то найдёте!

30

When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him.

30

Когда вы окажетесь в беде и всё это случится с вами, то возвратитесь к Господу, Богу вашему, и будете повиноваться Ему.

31

For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.

31

Господь, Бог ваш, милосердный Бог! Он вас там не оставит, не уничтожит полностью и не забудет о соглашении, заключённом с вашими предками!"

32

The Lord Is God

Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of?

"Разве случалось когда столь великое? Никогда! Оглянитесь на прошлое, подумайте обо всём, что произошло ещё до вашего рождения, с того самого времени, когда Бог создал на земле людей, посмотрите на всё то, что происходило на свете. Разве кто-нибудь слышал когда о столь великом?

33

Has any other people heard the voice of Goda speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived?

33

Вы же, люди, слышали, как Бог говорил с вами из огня, и до сих пор живы! Разве такое случалось с кем-нибудь ещё?!

34

Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

И разве когда-нибудь какой-то другой бог пытался пойти, взять себе народ из среды другого народа?! Вы же видели сами, что Господь, Бог ваш, свершил эти чудесные деяния, явив вам Свою мощь и силу! Вы видели, какие бедствия постигли народ, видели чудеса и знамения, видели войну и ужасы.

You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.

35

Господь явил вам всё это, чтобы вы знали, что Он — Бог. Нет Бога подобного Ему!

36

From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

36

Господь дал вам услышать с небес голос Свой, чтобы научить вас, дал вам увидеть на земле великий огонь Свой и говорил с вами из огня.

37

Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength,

37

Господь возлюбил предков ваших, потому и избрал вас, их потомков, и вывел вас из Египта. Господь был с вами и вывел вас оттуда Своей великой силой.

38

to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today.

38

Когда же вы двинулись вперёд, Господь изгнал народы, которые были сильнее и могущественнее вас, и отдал вам их землю, чтобы вы на ней жили. Он и сегодня продолжает это делать.

39

Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.

39

Так помните же, что Господь есть Бог, Бог наверху в небесах и внизу на земле. Нет Бога, кроме Него!

40

Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time.

40

Так следуйте Его законам и заповедям, которые я даю вам сегодня, чтобы было хорошо и вам и детям вашим после вас, и вы долго будете жить на земле, которую Бог даёт вам. Она будет вашей навеки!"

41

Cities of Refuge

Then Moses set aside three cities east of the Jordan,

to which anyone who had killed a person could flee if they had unintentionally killed a neighbor without malice aforethought. They could flee into one of these cities and save their life.

чтобы человек, ненамеренно убивший другого, мог бежать в один из этих городов и не был бы предан смерти; однако он будет в безопасности только в том случае, если совершил убийство нечаянно, а не из вражды.

43

The cities were these: Bezer in the wilderness plateau, for the Reubenites; Ramoth in Gilead, for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, for the Manassites.

Избранные Моисеем три города были: Бецер на равнинах, принадлежащих колену Рувиму, Рамоф в Галааде, принадлежащем колену Гада, и Голан в Васане, принадлежащем колену Манассии.

Introduction to the Law

This is the law Moses set before the Israelites.

Вот закон Божий, который Моисей дал израильскому народу.

These are the stipulations, decrees and laws Moses gave them when they came out of Egypt

Он дал народу эти учения, законы и постановления после их ухода из Египта.

and were in the valley near Beth Peor east of the Jordan, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites as they came out of Egypt.

Моисей дал им эти законы, когда они были на восточном берегу реки Иордан, в долине напротив Беф-Фегора, в земле Сигона, царя Аморрейского, который жил в Есевоне. Моисей с израильским народом пришёл из Египта и победил Сигона,

They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan.

захватил землю Сигона и землю Ога, царя Васанского, двух аморрейских царей, живших на восточном берегу реки Иордан.

This land extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge to Mount Sirionb (that is, Hermon),

and included all the Arabah east of the Jordan, as far as the Dead Sea,c below the slopes of Pisgah.

В эти земли входит также вся Иорданская долина на восточном берегу реки Иордан, на юге она примыкает к Мёртвому морю, а на востоке достигает подножия горы Фасги.
