  • A Living Sacrifice

    Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.
  • A Living Sacrifice

    I appeal to you therefore, brothers,a by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.b
  • Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.
  • Do not be conformed to this world,c but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.d
  • Humble Service in the Body of Christ

    For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

    For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

    Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

    Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
  • Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
  • Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
  • Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
  • Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit,g serve the Lord.
  • Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
  • Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
  • Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
  • Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
  • Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

  • Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

  • Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.c Do not be conceited.
