Joshua Installed as Leader

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:

После смерти слуги Господнего, Моисея, Господь сказал Иисусу, сыну Навину, помощнику Моисея:

“Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them — to the Israelites.

— Мой слуга Моисей умер. Итак, приготовься вместе со всем этим народом переправиться через реку Иордан в землю, которую Я даю им — израильтянам.

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

Я отдам вам всякое место, на которое ступит ваша нога, как Я обещал Моисею.

Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates — all the Hittite country — to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

Ваша земля будет простираться от пустыни до Ливана, от великой реки, реки Евфрата (включая всю землю хеттов), до Великого1 моря на западе.

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Никто не сможет противостоять тебе во все дни твоей жизни. Как Я был с Моисеем, так буду и с тобой; Я никогда тебя не оставлю и никогда не покину.

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

Будь тверд и мужествен, потому что ты поведешь этих людей, чтобы им унаследовать землю, которую Я клялся дать их отцам.

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

Будь тверд и очень мужествен. Тщательно исполняй весь Закон, который дал тебе Мой слуга Моисей. Не уклоняйся от него ни вправо, ни влево, чтобы тебе иметь успех везде, куда бы ты ни пошел.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Пусть слова книги Закона всегда будут у тебя на устах; размышляй над ними день и ночь, чтобы в точности исполнять все, что написано. Тогда ты будешь процветать и иметь успех.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Итак, Я повелеваю тебе: будь тверд и мужествен. Не страшись и не падай духом, потому что Господь, твой Бог, будет с тобой, куда бы ты ни пошел.

So Joshua ordered the officers of the people:

И приказал Иисус начальникам народа:

11

“Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.’ ”

— Пройдите по лагерю и скажите народу: «Запаситесь едой, потому что через три дня вы переправитесь здесь через Иордан, чтобы войти и завладеть землей, которую Господь, ваш Бог, дает вам во владение».

12

But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,

Но рувимитам, гадитам и половине рода Манассии Иисус сказал:

“Remember the command that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you after he said, ‘The Lord your God will give you rest by giving you this land.’

— Помните повеление, которое дал вам Моисей, слуга Господа: «Господь, ваш Бог, дал вам покой и даровал эту землю».

14

Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, must cross over ahead of your fellow Israelites. You are to help them

Ваши жены, дети и скот могут остаться в земле, которую Моисей дал вам к востоку от Иордана, но все ваши воины в полном вооружении должны переправиться впереди ваших братьев. Вы должны помогать вашим братьям,

until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise.”

пока Господь не даст им покой, как Он сделал это для вас самих, и пока они тоже не завладеют землей, которую Господь, ваш Бог, дает им. После этого вы сможете вернуться и занять свою землю, которую Моисей, слуга Господа, дал вам к востоку от Иордана, к восходу солнца.

Then they answered Joshua, “Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

Они ответили Иисусу:
— Мы исполним все, что бы ты ни приказал нам, и куда бы ты ни направил нас, мы пойдем.

17

Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses.

17

Как мы слушались Моисея, так будем слушаться и тебя. Только пусть Господь, твой Бог, будет с тобой, как Он был с Моисеем.

18

Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”

18

Всякий, кто воспротивится твоему приказу и не послушается твоих слов — что бы ты ни приказал, — будет предан смерти. Только будь тверд и мужествен!
