  • Allotment for Simeon

    The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon according to its clans. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah.
  • Simeon's Territory

    And the second lot came forth to Simeon, for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
  • It included:
    Beersheba (or Sheba),a Moladah,
  • And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,
  • Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem,
  • and Hazar-Shual, and Balah, and Ezem,
  • Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
  • and Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
  • Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah,
  • and Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah,
  • Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen — thirteen towns and their villages;
  • and Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities and their hamlets;
  • Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan — four towns and their villages —
  • Ain, Rimmon, and Ether, and Ashan: four cities and their hamlets;
  • and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev).
    This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans.
  • and all the hamlets that are round these cities to Baalath-beer, [that is] Ramah of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
  • The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.
  • Out of the lot of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon; for the portion of the children of Judah was too great for them, and the children of Simeon inherited within their inheritance.
  • Allotment for Zebulun

    The third lot came up for Zebulun according to its clans:
    The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid.
  • Zebulun's Territory

    And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families. And the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid;
  • Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam.
  • and their border went up westwards, and [to] Marealah, and reached to Dabbesheth, and reached to the torrent that is before Jokneam;
  • It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia.
  • and turned from Sarid eastward, toward the sun-rising, to the border of Chisloth-Tabor, and went out to Dabrath, and went up to Japhia;
  • Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah.
  • and from thence it passed eastward toward the sun-rising to Gath-Hepher, to Eth-kazin, and went out to Rimmon which reaches to Neah;
  • There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El.
  • and the border turned round it northwards to Hannathon: and ended in the valley of Jiphthah-el; ...
  • Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages.
  • and Kattath, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Jidalah, and Beth-lehem: twelve cities and their hamlets.
  • These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, according to its clans.
  • This was the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.
  • Allotment for Issachar

    The fourth lot came out for Issachar according to its clans.
  • Issachar's Territory

    The fourth lot came forth to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
  • Their territory included:
    Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,
  • And their territory was toward Jizreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem,
  • Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
  • and Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath,
  • Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
  • and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Ebez,
  • Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez.
  • and Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;
  • The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages.
  • and the border reached to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and their border ended at the Jordan: sixteen cities and their hamlets.
  • These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its clans.
  • This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.
  • Allotment for Asher

    The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher according to its clans.
  • Asher's Territory

    And the fifth lot came forth for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
  • Their territory included:
    Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph,
  • And their territory was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Acshaph,
  • Allammelek, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath.
  • and Allammelech, and Amead, and Mishal; and [the border] reached to Carmel westwards, and to Shihor-libnath,
  • It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left.
  • and turned towards the sun-rising to Beth-Dagon, and reached to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthah-el northward [to] Beth-emek and Neiel, and went out to Cabul on the left,
  • It went to Abdon,b Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.
  • and Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, as far as great Zidon;
  • The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea in the region of Akzib,
  • and the border turned to Ramah, and as far as the fortified city of Tyre; and the border turned to Hosah; and ended at the sea by the tract of country of Achzib;
  • Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages.
  • and Ummah, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty-two cities and their hamlets.
  • These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, according to its clans.
  • This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.
  • Allotment for Naphtali

    The sixth lot came out for Naphtali according to its clans:
  • Naphtali's Territory

    The sixth lot came forth to the children of Naphtali, for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
  • Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan.
  • And their border was from Heleph, from the oak of Zaanannim; and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum; and ended at the Jordan;
  • The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordanc on the east.
  • and the border turned westwards to Aznoth-Tabor, and went out from thence to Hukkok, and reached to Zebulun on the south, and reached to Asher on the west, and to Judah upon Jordan towards the sun-rising.
  • The fortified towns were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
  • And the fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth,
  • Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
  • and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor,
  • Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor,
  • and Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-Hazor,
  • Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages.
  • and Jiron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh: nineteen cities and their hamlets.
  • These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, according to its clans.
  • This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their hamlets.
  • Allotment for Dan

    The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan according to its clans.
  • Dan's Territory

    The seventh lot came forth for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.
  • The territory of their inheritance included:
    Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh,
  • And the territory of their inheritance was Zoreah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh,
  • Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
  • and Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jithlah,
  • Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
  • and Elon, and Timnathah, and Ekron,
  • Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
  • and El-tekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
  • Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon,
  • and Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gath-Rimmon,
  • Me Jarkon and Rakkon, with the area facing Joppa.
  • and Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border over against Japho.
  • (When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their ancestor.)
  • And the border of the children of Dan ended with these; and the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and took possession of it, and dwelt in it, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
  • These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, according to its clans.
  • This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities and their hamlets.
  • Allotment for Joshua

    When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them,
  • Joshua's Inheritance

    And they ended dividing the land for inheritance according to its borders. And the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them.
  • as the Lord had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for — Timnath Serahd in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there.
  • According to the word of Jehovah they gave him the city that he asked, Timnath-serah in the hill-country of Ephraim; and he built the city, and dwelt in it.
  • These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.
  • These were the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Shiloh before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And they ended dividing the land.
