And it was told Solomon, saying, “Indeed Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon; for look, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’ ”

And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me to day that he will not slay his servant with the sword.

Then Solomon was told, “Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon and is clinging to the horns of the altar. He says, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.’ ” -

Word soon reached Solomon that Adonijah had seized the horns of the altar in fear, and that he was pleading, “Let King Solomon swear today that he will not kill me!”

И донесли Соломону, говоря: вот, Адония боится царя Соломона, и вот, он держится за роги жертвенника, говоря: «пусть поклянётся мне теперь царь Соломон, что он не умертвит раба своего мечом».

І донесено Соломонові, кажучи: „Ось Адо́нія злякався царя Соломона, й ось він схопи́вся за роги же́ртівника, кажучи: Нехай цар Соломон зараз присягне́ мені, що не вб'є свого раба мече́м!“

Соломону доложили:
— Адония боится царя Соломона и не отпускает рогов жертвенника. Он говорит: «Пусть царь Соломон даст мне сегодня клятву, что он не предаст своего слугу мечу». -
І Соломонові сповістили про те, доповідаючи: Ось Адонія перелякався царя Соломона і тримається за роги жертовника, заявляючи: Нехай поклянеться мені сьогодні цар Соломон, що не вб’є свого раба мечем!
