  • David’s Further Conquests

    After this it came to pass that David [a]attacked the Philistines, subdued them, and took Gath and its towns from the hand of the Philistines.
  • David’s Military Victories

    After this, David defeated and subdued the Philistines by conquering Gath and its surrounding towns.
  • Then he [b]defeated Moab, and the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought tribute.
  • David also conquered the land of Moab, and the Moabites who were spared became David’s subjects and paid him tribute money.
  • And David [c]defeated [d]Hadadezer king of Zobah as far as Hamath, as he went to establish his power by the River Euphrates.
  • David also destroyed the forces of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, as far as Hamath,a when Hadadezer marched out to strengthen his control along the Euphrates River.
  • David took from him one thousand chariots, [e]seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David [f]hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.
  • David captured 1,000 chariots, 7,000 charioteers, and 20,000 foot soldiers. He crippled all the chariot horses except enough for 100 chariots.
