But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?

Но князья Аммонитские сказали Аннону: неужели ты думаешь, что Давид из уважения к отцу твоему прислал к тебе утешителей? Не для того ли пришли слуги его к тебе, чтобы разведать и высмотреть землю и разорить её?

Але Аммонїйські князї сказали Аннонові: Невже ж ти думаєш, що Давид так поважав твого батька, що послав до тебе потїшителїв? Чи ж не задля того прийшли його слуги до тебе, щоб розвідатись та роздивитись по землї, а опісля спустошити її? -
А начальники аммонітян сказали до Хануна: „Чи Давид ша́нує батька твого в оча́х твоїх тим, що послав тобі потіши́телів? Чи ж раби його прийшли до тебе не на те, щоб ви́відати, і щоб зни́щити, і щоб ви́шпигувати край?“

— Неужели ты думаешь, что Давид прислал к тебе этих людей с соболезнованиями из уважения к твоему отцу? Разве не затем они пришли к тебе, чтобы высмотреть, разведать и разрушить эту землю? -
Та володарі Аммона сказали Ананові: Хіба Давид не послав тобі втішаючих, щоб прославити твого батька перед тобою? Чи не для цього, щоб розвідати місто, щоб вивідати землю, прийшли до тебе його слуги?
