The Family of Judah

The sons of Judah were Perez, Hezron, [a]Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.

Сыновья Иуды: Фарес, Есром, Харми, Хур и Шовал.

And [b]Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.

Реаия, сын Шовала, родил Иахафа; Иахаф родил Ахума и Лагада: от них племена Цорян.

These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi;

И сии сыновья Етама: Изреель, Ишма и Идбаш, и сестра их, по имени Гацлелпони,

and Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah.
These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah the father of Bethlehem.

Пенуел, отец Гедора, и Езер, отец Хуша. Вот сыновья Хура, первенца Ефрафы, отца Вифлеема.

And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan;

and Koz begot Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

Коц родил: Анува и Цовева и племена Ахархела, сына Гарумова.

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name [c]Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”

Иавис был знаменитее своих братьев. Мать дала ему имя Иавис, сказав: я родила его с болезнью.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my [d]territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

И воззвал Иавис к Богу Израилеву и сказал: о, если бы Ты благословил меня Твоим благословением, распространил пределы мои, и рука Твоя была со мною, охраняя меня от зла, чтобы я не горевал!.. И Бог ниспослал ему, чего он просил.

Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

Хелув же, брат Шухи, родил Махира; он есть отец Ештона.

And Eshton begot Beth-Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of [e]Ir-Nahash. These were the men of Rechah.

The sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel were [f]Hathath,

and Meonothai who begot Ophrah. Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge Harashim,[g] for they were craftsmen.

The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah was [h]Kenaz.

The sons of Jehallelel were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

The sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And [i]Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

([j]His wife Jehudijah bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Sochoh, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) And these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

И жена его Иудия родила Иереда, отца Гедора, и Хевера, отца Сохо, и Иекуфиила, отца Занаоха. Это сыновья Бифьи, дочери фараоновой, которую взял Меред.

The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the Maachathite.

And the sons of Shimon were Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the linen workers of the house of Ashbea;

Сыновья Силома, сына Иудина: Ир, отец Лехи, и Лаеда, отец Мареши, и семейства выделывавших виссон, из дома Ашбеи,

also Jokim, the men of Chozeba, and Joash; Saraph, who ruled in Moab, and Jashubi-Lehem. Now the [k]records are ancient.

и Иоким, и жители Хозевы, и Иоаш и Сараф, которые имели владение в Моаве, и Иашувилехем; но это события древние.

These were the potters and those who dwell at [l]Netaim and [m]Gederah; there they dwelt with the king for his work.

Они были горшечники, и жили при садах и в огородах; у царя для работ его жили они там.

The Family of Simeon

The sons of Simeon were [n]Nemuel, Jamin, [o]Jarib, [p]Zerah, and Shaul,

Сыновья Симеона: Немуил, Иамин, Иарив, Зерах и Саул.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.

25

Шаллум сын его; его сын Мивсам; его сын Мишма.

And the sons of Mishma were Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, and Shimei his son.

Сыновья Мишмы: Хаммуил, сын его; его сын Закур; его сын Шимей.

Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers did not have many children, nor did any of their families multiply as much as the children of Judah.

They dwelt at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual,

Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

Beth Marcaboth, [s]Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

в Беф-Маркавофе, в Хацарсусиме, в Беф-Биреи и в Шаариме. Вот города их до царствования Давидова,

And their villages were [t]Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan — five cities —

and all the villages that were around these cities as far as [u]Baal. These were their dwelling places, and they maintained their genealogy:

И все селения их, которые находились вокруг сих городов до Ваала; вот места жительства их и родословия их.

Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;

Мешовав, Иамлех и Иосия, сын Амассии,

Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;

Иоил и Иегу, сын Иошиви, сына Сераии, сына Асиилова,

36

Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, and Benaiah;

36

Елиоенай, Иакова, Ишохаия, Асаия, Адиил, Ишимиил и Ванея,

37

Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah —

37

и Зиза, сын Шифия, сын Аллона, сын Иедаии, сын Шимрия, сын Шемаии.

these mentioned by name were leaders in their families, and their father’s house increased greatly.

38

Сии поименованные были князьями племён своих, и дом отцов их разделился на многие отрасли.

So they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

39

Они доходили до Герары и до восточной стороны долины, чтобы найти пастбища для стад своих;

40

And they found rich, good pasture, and the land was broad, quiet, and peaceful; for some Hamites formerly lived there.

40

и нашли пастбища тучные и хорошие и землю обширную, спокойную и безопасную, потому что до них жило там только немного Хамитян.

41

These recorded by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and they attacked[v] their tents and the Meunites who were found there, and utterly destroyed them, as it is to this day. So they dwelt in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks there.

И пришли сии, по именам записанные, во дни Езекии, царя Иудейского, и перебили кочующих и оседлых, которые там находились, и истребили их навсегда и поселились на месте их, ибо там были пастбища для стад их.

42

Now some of them, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, having as their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

42

Из них же, из сынов Симеоновых, пошли к горе Сеир пятьсот человек: Фелатия, Неария, Рефаия и Узиил, сыновья Ишия, были во главе их;

43

And they [w]defeated the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have dwelt there to this day.

43

и побили уцелевший там остаток Амаликитян, и живут там до сего дня.
