New King James Version

New International Version

  • Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death

    I love the Lord, because He has heard
    My voice and my supplications.
  • Psalm 116

    I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
    he heard my cry for mercy.
  • Because He has inclined His ear to me,
    Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
  • Because he turned his ear to me,
    I will call on him as long as I live.
  • The [a]pains of death surrounded me,
    And the [b]pangs of Sheol [c]laid hold of me;
    I found trouble and sorrow.
  • The cords of death entangled me,
    the anguish of the grave came over me;
    I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
  • Then I called upon the name of the Lord:
    “O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul!”
  • Then I called on the name of the Lord:
    “Lord, save me!”
  • Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
    Yes, our God is merciful.
  • The Lord is gracious and righteous;
    our God is full of compassion.
  • The Lord preserves the simple;
    I was brought low, and He saved me.
  • The Lord protects the unwary;
    when I was brought low, he saved me.
  • Return to your rest, O my soul,
    For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.
  • Return to your rest, my soul,
    for the Lord has been good to you.
  • For You have delivered my soul from death,
    My eyes from tears,
    And my feet from falling.
  • For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,
    my eyes from tears,
    my feet from stumbling,
  • I will walk before the Lord
    In the land of the living.
  • that I may walk before the Lord
    in the land of the living.
  • I believed, therefore I spoke,
    “I am greatly afflicted.”
  • I trusted in the Lord when I said,
    “I am greatly afflicted”;
  • I said in my haste,
    “All men are liars.”
  • in my alarm I said,
    “Everyone is a liar.”
  • What shall I render to the Lord
    For all His benefits toward me?
  • What shall I return to the Lord
    for all his goodness to me?
  • I will take up the cup of salvation,
    And call upon the name of the Lord.
  • I will lift up the cup of salvation
    and call on the name of the Lord.
  • I will pay my vows to the Lord
    Now in the presence of all His people.
  • I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
    in the presence of all his people.
  • Precious in the sight of the Lord
    Is the death of His saints.
  • Precious in the sight of the Lord
    is the death of his faithful servants.
  • O Lord, truly I am Your servant;
    I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant;
    You have loosed my bonds.
  • Truly I am your servant, Lord;
    I serve you just as my mother did;
    you have freed me from my chains.
  • I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
    And will call upon the name of the Lord.
  • I will sacrifice a thank offering to you
    and call on the name of the Lord.
  • I will pay my vows to the Lord
    Now in the presence of all His people,
  • I will fulfill my vows to the Lord
    in the presence of all his people,
  • In the courts of the Lord’s house,
    In the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
    [d]Praise the Lord!
  • in the courts of the house of the Lord —
    in your midst, Jerusalem.
    Praise the Lord.a
