God’s Perfect Knowledge of Man

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.

You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.

Визволи мене, Господи, від поганої людини, визволи мене від безбожного чоловіка:

You [a]comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.

такі задумували неправедне в серці, весь день готувалися воювати.

For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

Вони вигострили свій язик, наче гадюки, — зміїна отрута на їхніх устах.
(Музична пауза).

You have [b]hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.

Захисти мене, Господи, від руки грішника, визволи мене від неправедних людей, які задумали поставити перепону ногам моїм.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.

Горді наставили на мене капкан і натягнули мотузки, поклали пастки для моїх ніг, на стежці наставили на мене сильце.
(Музична пауза).

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?

Я сказав Господу: Ти — мій Бог! Господи, почуй голос мого благання.

If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [c]hell, behold, You are there.

Господи, Владико, Ти — сила мого спасіння, Ти вберіг мою голову в день бою.

If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

Господи, не видай мене грішникові, проти мого бажання. Вони задумали зло проти мене — не залиш мене, щоб ніколи вони не піднялися.
(Музична пауза).

Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Що ж до проводиря їхнього оточення, — злоба їхніх уст покриє їх.

If I say, “Surely the darkness shall [d]fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;

На них спаде розпечене вугілля, Ти скинеш їх у вогонь, — вони не встоять у бідах.

Indeed, the darkness [e]shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

Людина, яка лихословить, не встоїть на землі: зло вполює і знищить неправедну людину.

For You formed my inward parts;
You [f]covered me in my mother’s womb.

Я збагнув, що Господь вчинить суд бідному і відімстить за убогого.

I will praise You, for [g]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.

Тож праведні прославлятимуть Твоє Ім’я, праведні житимуть у Твоїй присутності.
