A Plea for Relief from Persecutors

A Contemplation[a] of David. A Prayer when he was in the cave.

I cry out to the Lord with my voice;
With my voice to the Lord I make my supplication.

Псалом Давида, коли його переслідував син.
Господи, почуй мою молитву, прийми моє благання у Своїй правді! Вислухай мене у Своїй праведності!

I pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare before Him my trouble.

І не вступай у суд зі Своїм рабом, бо перед Тобою не виправдається ніхто з живих.

When my spirit [b]was overwhelmed within me,
Then You knew my path.
In the way in which I walk
They have secretly set a snare for me.

Адже ворог переслідував душу мою, втоптав моє життя в землю, посадив мене в темряві, наче од віку померлих.

Look on my right hand and see,
For there is no one who acknowledges me;
Refuge has failed me;
No one cares for my soul.

Ослаб у мені дух мій, стривожилося в мені серце моє.

I cried out to You, O Lord:
I said, “You are my refuge,
My portion in the land of the living.

Я згадав давні дні, роздумував про всі Твої вчинки, розмірковував про діла рук Твоїх.

[c]Attend to my cry,
For I am brought very low;
Deliver me from my persecutors,
For they are stronger than I.

Підняв я до Тебе свої руки: моя душа перед Тобою, як спрагла земля.
(Музична пауза).

Bring my soul out of prison,
That I may praise Your name;
The righteous shall surround me,
For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

Поспіши вислухати мене, Господи, — мій дух занепав. Не відверни від мене Свого обличчя, аби я не уподібнився до тих, які сходять в могилу.
