New King James Version

Darby Bible Translation

  • The Happiness of Those Whose Help Is the Lord

    Praise[a] the Lord!
    Praise the Lord, O my soul!
  • Praise the Lord, My Soul

    Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.
  • While I live I will praise the Lord;
    I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
  • As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.
  • Do not put your trust in princes,
    Nor in [b]a son of man, in whom there is no [c]help.
  • Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
  • His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
    In that very day his plans perish.
  • His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.
  • Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
    Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
  • Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,
  • Who made heaven and earth,
    The sea, and all that is in them;
    Who keeps truth forever,
  • Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;
  • Who executes justice for the oppressed,
    Who gives food to the hungry.
    The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
  • Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;
  • The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
    The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
    The Lord loves the righteous.
  • Jehovah openeth [the eyes of] the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;
  • The Lord watches over the strangers;
    He relieves the fatherless and widow;
    But the way of the wicked He [d]turns upside down.
  • Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.
  • The Lord shall reign forever —
    Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
    Praise the Lord!
  • Jehovah will reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halleluiah!
