New Living Translation

  • A Plea for Deliverance and Forgiveness

    A Psalm of David.

    To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
  • aA psalm of David.

    O LORD, I give my life to you.
  • O my God, I trust in You;
    Let me not be ashamed;
    Let not my enemies triumph over me.
  • I trust in you, my God!
    Do not let me be disgraced,
    or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.
  • Indeed, let no one who [a]waits on You be ashamed;
    Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
  • No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced,
    but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.
  • Show me Your ways, O Lord;
    Teach me Your paths.
  • Show me the right path, O LORD;
    point out the road for me to follow.
  • Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
    For You are the God of my salvation;
    On You I wait all the day.
  • Lead me by your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God who saves me.
    All day long I put my hope in you.
  • Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses,
    For they are from of old.
  • Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love,
    which you have shown from long ages past.
  • Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
    According to Your mercy remember me,
    For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
  • Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.
    Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,
    for you are merciful, O LORD.
  • Good and upright is the Lord;
    Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
  • The LORD is good and does what is right;
    he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
  • The humble He guides in justice,
    And the humble He teaches His way.
  • He leads the humble in doing right,
    teaching them his way.
  • All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,
    To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
  • The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
    all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
  • For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
    Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
  • For the honor of your name, O LORD,
    forgive my many, many sins.
  • Who is the man that fears the Lord?
    Him shall [b]He teach in the way He chooses.
  • Who are those who fear the LORD?
    He will show them the path they should choose.
  • He himself shall dwell in [c]prosperity,
    And his descendants shall inherit the earth.
  • They will live in prosperity,
    and their children will inherit the land.
  • The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,
    And He will show them His covenant.
  • The LORD is a friend to those who fear him.
    He teaches them his covenant.
  • My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    For He shall [d]pluck my feet out of the net.
  • My eyes are always on the LORD,
    for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.
  • Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me,
    For I am [e]desolate and afflicted.
  • Turn to me and have mercy,
    for I am alone and in deep distress.
  • The troubles of my heart have enlarged;
    Bring me out of my distresses!
  • My problems go from bad to worse.
    Oh, save me from them all!
  • Look on my affliction and my pain,
    And forgive all my sins.
  • Feel my pain and see my trouble.
    Forgive all my sins.
  • Consider my enemies, for they are many;
    And they hate me with [f]cruel hatred.
  • See how many enemies I have
    and how viciously they hate me!
  • Keep my soul, and deliver me;
    Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.
  • Protect me! Rescue my life from them!
    Do not let me be disgraced, for in you I take refuge.
  • Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    For I wait for You.
  • May integrity and honesty protect me,
    for I put my hope in you.
  • Redeem Israel, O God,
    Out of all their troubles!
  • O God, ransom Israel
    from all its troubles.
