Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous!
For praise from the upright is beautiful.

Псалом Давида, коли він вдавав із себе божевільного перед Авімелехом. Той його відпустив, і він пішов.

Praise the Lord with the harp;
[a]Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.

Величатиму Господа повсякчас, — хвала Його постійно на моїх устах.

Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

Господом буде хвалитися моя душа. Хай почують лагідні й розвеселяться.

4

For the word of the Lord is right,
And all His work is done in truth.

Звеличуйте Господа зі мною, тож разом прославимо Його Ім’я.

He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Я шукав Господа, і Він вислухав мене, і визволив мене від усіх моїх поневірянь.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

Підійдіть до Нього і просвітіться, і ваші обличчя не будуть засоромлені.

He gathers the waters of the sea together [b]as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.

Цей убогий заволав — і Господь почув його, — спас його від усіх його бід.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

Господній ангел отабориться навкруги тих, які бояться Його, — і визволить їх.

For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.

Скуштуйте й побачите, що добрий Господь. Блаженний чоловік, що покладає на Нього надію.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.

Бійтеся Господа, Його святі, адже ті, хто боїться Його, не мають недостатку.

The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart to all generations.

Багатії стали бідними та голодними, а ті, хто шукає Господа, не будуть позбавлені жодних благ.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Прийдіть, діти, послухайте мене, і навчу вас Господнього страху:

The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men.

Хто та людина, яка бажає жити, якій любо бачити добрі дні?

From the place of His dwelling He looks
On all the inhabitants of the earth;

Тож утримай свій язик від зла і свої уста, щоб не говорили лукаве.

He fashions their hearts individually;
He [c]considers all their works.

Відвернися від зла і роби добро, шукай миру і постійно прямуй до нього.

16

No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

Господні очі звернені на праведних, а Його вуха — на їхні благання.

17

A horse is a [d]vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.

Але обличчя Господнє — проти тих, які чинять зло, щоб вигубити із землі пам’ять про них.

18

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,

Праведні закликали — і Господь почув та визволив їх від усіх їхніх бід.

19

To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.

19

Господь близький до тих, чиї серця в скорботі, і спасе лагідних духом.

20

Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.

20

Багато скорбот у праведних, та від них усіх визволить їх [Господь].

21

For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.

21

Господь оберігає всі їхні кості, жодна з них не буде поламана.

22

Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You.

22

Смерть грішників погана, і ті, які ненавидять праведного, — грішать.
