Faith Persevering in Trial

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.

Проводиреві хора. Псальма Давидова. Т ерпеливо дожидав я Господа, і він нахилився до мене; вислухав молитву мою.

2

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

Він випровадив мене з погибельної пропастї, з болотнистого багна; і поставив ноги мої на скалу, і утвердив кроки мої;

3

He has put a new song in my mouth —
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

А в уста мої вложив нову пісню, псальму Господеві нашому. Побачать многі, побояться і вповати муть на Господа.

4

Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Щаслив чоловік, йому же Господь надїя, і котрий не пристає до гордовитих і тих, що до брехнї прихиляються.

Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

Многі чудеса твої явив єси, Господи, Боже мій, і помисли твої про нас; нїхто не зможе розказати про них. Як би хотїв я звістити і розповісти, то за багацько їх, щоб їх полїчити.

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.

Жертви і приноси тобі не до вподоби; слух приготовив ти для мене: Ти не домагався жертов палення і приносів за гріхи.

Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

Тодї сказав я: Ось я приходжу; в змістї книги написано про мене.

I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

Чинити волю твою, мій Боже, моя радість: і закон твій в глубинї серця мого.

9

I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O Lord, You Yourself know.

Я звістив про справедливість у великому зборі; уст моїх неспиняв я — Господи, ти про се знаєш!

10

I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

Не заховав я в серединї мого серця твою справедливість; я розказував про вірність твою і спасеннє твоє, не затаїв доброти і правди твоєї перед великим збором.

11

Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord;
Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

Ти, Господи, не відхиляй від мене милосердя твого; милість твоя і правда твоя нехай завсїди стоять на сторожі коло мене!

12

For innumerable evils have surrounded me;
My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up;
They are more than the hairs of my head;
Therefore my heart fails me.

Лиха без кінця обступили мене, мої несправедливостї постигли мене, що годї переглянути їх; більше їх, як волосся на голові моїй, і серце моє опустило мене.

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me;
O Lord, make haste to help me!

Нехай буде воля твоя, Господи, спасти мене! Господи поспіши на поміч мою!

14

Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
Who seek to destroy my [a]life;
Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor
Who wish me evil.

Нехай осоромляться і повстидаються всї, що чигають на життє моє, щоб запропастити його; нехай назад повернуться і осоромляться ті, що з мого нещастя втїшаються!

15

Let them be confounded because of their shame,
Who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

Нехай пропадуть в нагороду за їх сором ті, що до мене кажуть: Ого! Ого!

16

Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“The Lord be magnified!”

Нехай радуються і веселяться в тобі всї, що шукають тебе; що люблять спасеннє твоє; нехай все кажуть: Да звеличиться Господь.

17

But I am poor and needy;
Yet the Lord thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.

17

Я ж мізерний і бідолашний, Господь дбає за мене. Ти моя поміч і моє спасеннє; Боже мій, не загайся!
