  • God the Refuge of His People and Conqueror of the Nations

    To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth.

    God is our refuge and strength,
    A[a] very present help in trouble.
  • For the choir director: A song of the descendants of Korah, to be sung by soprano voices.a

    God is our refuge and strength,
    always ready to help in times of trouble.
  • Therefore we will not fear,
    Even though the earth be removed,
    And though the mountains be carried into the [b]midst of the sea;
  • So we will not fear when earthquakes come
    and the mountains crumble into the sea.
  • Though its waters roar and be troubled,
    Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
  • Let the oceans roar and foam.
    Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
    Interlude
  • There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
    The holy place of the [c]tabernacle of the Most High.
  • A river brings joy to the city of our God,
    the sacred home of the Most High.
  • God is in the midst of her, she shall not be [d]moved;
    God shall help her, just [e]at the break of dawn.
  • God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.
    From the very break of day, God will protect it.
  • The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
    He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
  • The nations are in chaos,

  • The Lord of hosts is with us;
