Hear this, all peoples;
Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,

Псалом Асафа. Бог богів Господь проголосив і закликав землю від сходу сонця і до заходу.

Both low and high,
Rich and poor together.

Із Сіону, що є розквітом Його краси, видимо з’явиться Бог —

My mouth shall speak wisdom,
And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.

наш Бог, — і Він не мовчатиме! Перед Ним палатиме вогонь, а навколо Нього — надзвичайно сильна буря.

4

I will incline my ear to a proverb;
I will disclose my [a]dark saying on the harp.

Він з висоти закличе небо і землю, щоби судити Свій народ.

5

Why should I fear in the days of evil,
When the iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

Зберіть до Нього Його святих, які уклали з Ним завіт над жертвами;

Those who trust in their wealth
And boast in the multitude of their riches,

і небеса проголосять Його правду, адже Бог — суддя.

None of them can by any means redeem his brother,
Nor give to God a ransom for him —

Послухай, народе Мій! Я до тебе промовлятиму, Ізраїлю, Я свідчитиму тобі. Я — Бог, твій Бог.

For the redemption of their souls is costly,
And it shall cease forever —

Я не буду звинувачувати тебе за твої жертви, оскільки твої всепалення постійно переді Мною.

That he should continue to live eternally,
And not [b]see the Pit.

Не прийму телят із твого дому, ні козлів із твоїх отар.

For he sees wise men die;
Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish,
And leave their wealth to others.

Адже всі звірі в лісі, тварини в горах і воли — Мої.

[c]Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever,
Their dwelling places to all generations;
They call their lands after their own names.

Мені відомі всі небесні птахи, і краса полів належить Мені.

Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not [d]remain;
He is like the beasts that perish.

Коли б Я зголоднів, то тобі не сказав би, адже Всесвіт і все, що в ньому, — Мої.

This is the way of those who are foolish,
And of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah

Хіба Я їм м’ясо биків чи п’ю кров козлів?

Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
Death shall feed on them;
The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning;
And their beauty shall be consumed in [e]the grave, far from their dwelling.

Ти в жертву принеси Богові жертву подяки і виконай свої обітниці, дані Всевишньому.

15

But God will redeem my soul from the power of [f]the grave,
For He shall receive me. Selah

Тож заклич до Мене в дні скорботи, — і Я тебе визволю, і ти Мене прославиш.

Do not be afraid when one becomes rich,
When the glory of his house is increased;

Бог промовив до грішника: Чому ти розповідаєш про Мої постанови, чому своїми устами постійно згадуєш Мій завіт?

17

For when he dies he shall carry nothing away;
His glory shall not descend after him.

Ти ж зненавидів повчання і відкинув Мої слова.

Though while he lives he blesses himself
(For men will praise you when you do well for yourself),

Коли ти бачив злодія, то біг з ним, і з перелюбниками з’єднав свою долю.

19

He shall go to the generation of his fathers;
They shall never see light.[g]

Твої уста повні злоби, а твій язик сплітав оману.

20

A man who is in honor, yet does not understand,
Is like the beasts that perish.

Сидячи без діла, ти наговорював на свого брата, та для сина своєї матері ти був спотиканням.
