God the Righteous Judge

A Psalm of Asaph.

The Mighty One, God the Lord,
Has spoken and called the earth
From the rising of the sun to its going down.

1

Для дириґента хору. Псалом Давидів,

2

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God will shine forth.

2

коли до нього прийшов пророк Ната́н, як Давид увійшов був до Вірсаві́ї

3

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
A fire shall devour before Him,
And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

3

Помилуй мене, Боже, з великої милости Твоєї, і з великого милосердя Свого загла́дь беззако́ння мої!

4

He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:

Обмий мене зо́всім з мого беззако́ння, й очи́сти мене від мого гріха́,

5

“Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have [a]made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

5

бо свої беззако́ння я знаю, а мій гріх передо мною пості́йно.

6

Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge. Selah

6

Тобі, одно́му Тобі я згрішив, і перед очима Твоїми лука́ве вчинив, тому́ справедливий Ти будеш у мові Своїй, бездога́нний у су́ді Своїм.

7

“Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, and I will testify against you;
I am God, your God!

Отож я в беззако́нні наро́джений, і в гріху́ зачала́ мене мати моя.

8

I will not [b]rebuke you for your sacrifices
Or your burnt offerings,
Which are continually before Me.

Ото, полюбив єси правду в глиби́нах, і в таємних реча́х виявляєш премудрість мені.

9

I will not take a bull from your house,
Nor goats out of your folds.

9

Очи́сти ісо́пом мене, — і буду я чистий, обмий Ти мене — і я стану біліший від снігу.

10

For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.

10

Дай почути мені втіху й радість, — і раді́тимуть кості, що Ти покруши́в.

11

I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.

11

Обличчя Своє заховай від гріхів моїх, і всі беззако́ння мої позагла́джуй.

12

“If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

12

Серце чисте створи мені, Боже, і трива́лого духа в моєму нутрі́ віднови́.

13

Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
Or drink the blood of goats?

13

Не відки́нь мене від Свого лиця, й не бери Свого Духа Святого від мене.

14

Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.

14

Верни мені радість спасі́ння Твого́, і зла́гідним духом підтримай мене.

15

Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

15

Я буду навча́ти беззако́нців доріг Твоїх, — і наве́рнуться грішні до Те́бе.

16

But to the wicked God says:
“What right have you to declare My statutes,
Or take My covenant in your mouth,

Визволь мене від пере́ступу кро́вного, Боже, Боже спасі́ння мого, мій язик нехай сла́вить Твою справедливість!

17

Seeing you hate instruction
And cast My words behind you?

17

Господи, відкрий мої уста, і язик мій звістить Тобі хвалу,

18

When you saw a thief, you consented[c] with him,
And have been a partaker with adulterers.

18

бо Ти жертви не пра́гнеш, а дам цілопа́лення, — то не любе воно Тобі буде.

19

You give your mouth to evil,
And your tongue frames deceit.

19

Жертва Бо́гові — зла́маний Дух; серцем зла́маним та упоко́реним Ти не погордуєш, Боже!

20

You sit and speak against your brother;
You slander your own mother’s son.

20

Ущасли́в Своїм благоволі́нням Сіон, збудуй му́ри для Єрусали́му, —

21

These things you have done, and I kept silent;
You thought that I was altogether like you;
But I will rebuke you,
And set them in order before your eyes.

21

тоді Ти полюбиш Собі жертви правди, цілопа́лення та прино́шення, тоді покладуть на Твій ві́втар тельців!
